It's much easier to use them than to use <t>.
    I'm confused about <lastst>

Maybe it's because I play on PS2, and I'm using a different interface, but to me it seems easier to just always use <stpc> and scroll up or down your list to the appropriate person. Wouldn't <lastst> automatically go to the last person you cast on, totally defeating the purpose, since they were the most recent one to get refresh?

Either I'm misunderstanding the usefulness of <lastst> or i'm unclear of how it works.

    Thanks.

For the record I use <t> with offensive spells (directed at monster) and <stpc> for pt spells. Is there anything I should do different? It seems to work well, and i've never accidentally targeted the wrong target.

This is a bit off topic, but theres another one I dont understand, but cant remember exactly how it goes... either <backt> or <bst> something to that effect, what does that one do?

<bt> is battle/best target, it's whatever mob is red to your pt, however, i've seen problems with this when there's a link, so i use <stnpc> for the few spells that i'd need to cast on anything other than the main mob (sleep and such).

for example, puller does a ranged attack on a mob, my /target <bt> macro targets that if it's in targetable range, however, i had a rdm use /ma Dia <bt> had a bat link in garlaige (lowbie bats thank god) and the brd lullaby'd them, but his dia macro hit the bats closer to him that were asleep... as you can imagine, they didn't go back to sleep

as for <lastst> it does whatever the last sub target was, i use it in my sleep macros for notification of what i slept. here's my sleep 2 macro

      /ma "Sleep II" <stnpc>
      /p (Sleep II) >> <lastst>

now, in a practical demonstration, a pull grabs a beetle, but a bat agros (sadly, no the lowbie ones... ended up escaping) my /target <bt> already has the beetle targeted, i hit my sleep 2 macro, move it over to the bat, and use it, the results are:

Phelisia starts casting Sleep II on the Citadel Bats.
(Phelisia) (Sleep II) >> Citadel Bats

it'd be similar when casting refresh on a pt member, but i ended up taking all the spam out of my macros, just save it for escape, sleeps, and freeze ^^ and a /goodbye on warp2 right before it goes off

hope that was helpful... if not XD

        That was helpful, thanks.

So basically, <lastst> is more or less just for communication rather than actions (for the most part) right?

          Mostly, yeah.

If you have extra macro space (yeah, right) you could do something like
          /ma "Protect II" <stpc>
          /wait 6
          /ma "Shell II" <lastst>

which would only require you to target that person once to cast both pro2 and shell2 on them.

I've heard of people doing this kind of thing with enfeebles (like para/blind/slow in one macro, using <lastst> for the last 2), but I prefer to have more control over what I'm doing.

I put all my enfeebles on <stnpc>. If the add resists sleep I want to be able to quickly para/blind/slow it, and given that, I put the rest on stnpc so they behave consistently.

I would never macro anything with <bt> other than /target <bt>. Too much risk of its picking the wrong thing and getting an add (or waking up the add you already slept).
