$$$Astral Rings$$$ are they worth it?

Do a lot of RDM really use these, is it imparitive to be wearing this ring, or are there better rings out there for a cheaper cost?:spin:

You can wait till level 40 to buy Electrum Rings which go for about 8k on my server. The reason Astral Rings are so expensive is that you can wear them at level 10 so they are way more versatile than their electrum counterparts. They also give 25hp/mp, rather than electrum's 20hp/mp.

The only thing that beats the mana increasing benifits of astral rings are serket rings.... which go for a couple mil :sweat:

Luckily their was a recent spike of supply for astral rings, and about 21 of them were being sold at one time. Price dropped down to 145k . I could only afford 1 unfortunately, and a week later the price rose back to 200k. So wait for the sales, its worth it

a certain member of my LS (who posts on this board) was PTing with another member of my LS last night and they got the serket ring to drop. They were going to both lot and split the profits... that is until said member A hit pass instead of lot

I've been using Electrum Rings for a while now, but recently bought two Astral Rings for a grand total of 315k. My reasoning - when you're levelling your SJ, you won't necessarily have access to Electrum Rings, and +MP gear is much more useful at lower levels. It's especially useful for me since I'm Elvaan so every extra bit of MP helps. Plus, I like to look at them like a bit of a status symbol to have two Astral Rings.

Are they necessarily worth the cost? I would say so. You'll never have to buy another set of MP rings again in the game, and it'll last you from level 10-75. +50 MP at level 10 is godlike. While Serket Ring is a good upgrade, IMO it's not worth the cost.

If you can't afford Astral Rings, then don't fret about it. A pair of Electrum Rings only give 10 less MP at a fraction of the cost. You just won't be able to use them for a long time when levelling your SJ.

I'm eventually going to make the change from Electrum to Astral Ring as well Even though my pair of Electrum Ring cost me 36k (16k and 20k), you're right; Astral Ring is able to be equipped at a much lower level so it is much more useful :D

Problem is, they're around 120k each on Midgardsormr... and spells come first ; ;

That's the biggest load of BS I've heard in a while....How on earth would 2 people solo serket!?...And if you try and tell me there were more then 2, then why did you fail to mention that no one else lotted, cuz I know as well as everyoen else that if a serket ring actually dropped, EVERYONE would lot on it.

Besides the fact that serket is freakin impossible almost...and that I've seem 18 lvl 65's wiped out by him. But continue with the fairy tales...please...

Is the 10 MP difference between 2x Astral and 2x Electrums really worth it once Electrums become available though?

That's just enough MP for 1 Cure I. While my RDM isn't that high, I would imagine having Refresh and Convert would make such a trivial difference in MP almost irrelevent?

If you can't afford it just wait till u get to 40 and get electrum. Then when u start making more money by doing those BCNM and what not, buy they astrals and use them to quickly level up your other mage type jobs. Kinda simple plan but i'm stickin to dat. PEACE

I said once electrums became available, which renders the "available 30 levels earlier" issue moot.

I'm asking, because people posted on this thread that they would switch from electrums to astrals for the 10 extra MP. My question is, is that 10 MP really worth paying a boatload of gil, especially since RDM has Refresh and Convert?

It depends.

If you are an "unconventional"(ie galka, or perhaps elvaan) caster, then yes, astral rings are very much worth it. 50mp is a crapload at lower levels. heck, even 25 is alot if you're not a taru.
