    Well i have decided to be a redmage/blackmage i really thnk this is a good idea...



    Q#1: What are the spells that a red mage usesalot?


    Q #2:What is the bouneses of haveing a black mage as a sub???

Hell, what did you think the sticky right on top of the damn page "Stat chart: Subbing WHM vs BLM vs SUM" says? Oh, I was considering linking it for you but since you're obviously either too lazy or too stupid to bother reading, I decided not to.

    Yes, I'll probably get warning points for this, but I don't care. People need to stop asking questions that have been answered millions of times already.

      perhaps i'm just giving the starving man a fish instead of a fishing pole but i will humor you and answer your questions

      In the future plz do look at the top of each job thread for a sticky that will be a guide for that job by an experienced player that details a lot about that job, tazirai's guide is quite good for both beinging and advanced RDM info so take some time to read that, here is a quick rundown of your question

      1) Frequently used spells

      Enfeebling spells

      Dia
      Bio
      Gravity
      Blind
      Paralyze
      Slow
      Poison

      These spells are your best friends and a tool to be becomeing a good debuffer which is what rdms are best at

      Other spells

      Cure (I, II, III and IV)
      Refresh (lvl 41 this is the defining RDM job spell, MP regen)
      Dispel (negates a single positive effect on the target)
      Phalanx (Soloing spell for the rich rdm)
      Stoneskin (good for solo or when you start with a new group that may have some issues)
      Haste (decreases attack delay)

      All the spells have uses at different times, but these are the Staple rdm spells IMO

      (People feel free to add any i missed)



      2) Benefits of blm sub

      Warp spell
      Escape spell
      MP bonus
      Conserve MP job trait
      Elemental Seal
      Damage over time spells
      elemental -ga spells
      better INT for Magic bursting

      Detriments of subbing blm

      No -na spells for annoying stat effects
      less mind
      no curaga
      No Divine seal (Great for use with Convert lvl 40 rdm job ability)
      No teleport spells
      No White magic related -ga spells (Diaga, banishga ect)
      No Bar- ra spells



      Hope that helps you out and plz utilize the reasources that are here for you already like the guides that ppl have posted as well as checking all the sticky's all of this stuff is covered in detail there or in other sections of the forum, also you should learn as much about the job as you can so try to read up on lots of stuff this site is full of great info and great people to help you out, so don't be afraid to ask, just make sure that you look first

          Casting the BLM spell Shock first helps you land enfeeblement. Also, Elemental Seal helps you land an enfeeblement that you don't want to be resisted (e.g. Sleep, Silence).

          MP Conserve is a nice thing to have even if you don't benefit from it very often.

          Aspir is weaker on a RDM than on a BLM or DRK, but when used in combination with Elemental Seal you can hope to get back a decent amount of MP.

          Also, when you learn Escape, this spell in combination with Chainspell is a party lifesaver. You can get a party out of a bad situation in a few seconds (only works in dungeons).
