  • Haste question

I got alot of insight on the refresh topic(and I am sure others did to) but what about haste?

I was told by many thf's and pld's that the haste was not even very noticable, but the sam/drg/drk sure did see a noticable difference.

My question is should Haste just go to the 2h users or keep all up to date on haste? Doing refresh/haste/debuff's and keeping debuffs up was very hard on the mp when doing constant pulling.

Haste reduces approximately 12% of delay. Let's take a look at some examples.

    1) Without Haste

    - Vassago's Scythe [Delay 528]
    - Royal Guard Fleuret [Delay 215]

    2) With Haste

    - Vassago's Scythe [Delay 464.6]
    - Royal Guard Fleuret [Delay 189.2]

So, a dark knight is able to swing it 1.06 seconds faster while a red mage do it 0.43 seconds faster. It is obvious that people with 2H weapons feel it more helpful.

However, the reason I always cast it on tanks, NIN or PLD is because it also reduces recasting time of both ninjyutsu and magic spells. It is good for both Utsusemi and Flash spell.

I posted a movie before to verify how recasting timer of stoneskin is shortened with Haste. You can also check BCNM50 one I just posted to see how come I was able to cast another Glavity in 50 seconds after I casted a previous one (Glavity: We need 60 seconds to recast).

Finally, MNK with Haste+ gears like Brown Belt benefits from it, too. However, if attackers do too much damage, a tank will be in trouble Therefore, I conclude that it is only necessary for NIN and ourselves (solo, reducing recasting timer of stoneskin). Unless we always have MP surplus, we don't have to cast it on attackers constantly.

Ah thanks for the info ^^

Would a pld cast CureIII faster if they did it via a macro or via a spell list? Or would it be the same?
(same can be said for ninja's who use ninjitsu via ninjitsu list and vice versa)

O.K, we need 6 seconds to recast Cure III and it's going to be 3 - 4 seconds with Haste, I guess. Not a big difference though

And yes, they have to use macro palette, not a spell list, to make use of this Haste trick.

BTW, it doesn't seem to affect our spell-casting. In other words, it doesn't seem to help our spell-casting not to be inturrupted. It only shortens recasting time.

As we know, they have to wait for 45 seconds to recast Flash and Utsusemi II but with Haste, they can save 8 seconds (= 37 seconds to recast).

Faster flash and faster ninjitsu recast is enough reason for me now hehe.

But does spell haste stack with Victory March and Garuda's Hastaga?

I'm pretty sure it stacks with march, but I don't think it stacks with hastega.
