According to FFXIcyclopedia, STR is the damage modifier. TP affects ACC.

right. STR is the primary dmg modifier for all physical ws. AGI is the secondary modifier.
TP is to help with accuracy like murp said. It's a very inaccurate ws at 100% tp

Man, I could have sworn that my Rock Crusher (staff) was doing more damage to yagudo while farming at 300% than 100%.

I dont think that page is completely accurate, well its not wrong but its incomplete.

This is where almost everyone gets these numbers from (not the actual post, but the info in the post).
AGI is the secondary mod for sidewinder. STR will always be the main mod for any physical dmg ws. STR also is used in the check against the mobs VIT.

Usually people look at the line of a bunch of numbers and just think that oh AGI, that must be the main mod since its the only stat I see in the long list of things for sidewinder. Yes, it contributes to dmg but not as much as you think.

TP for sidewinder affects accuracy. TP for other ws may differ for what they affect. If you notice the blurb when you open the ws menu, it will tell you want tp counts towards.

yea it would... but martial bow has a crappy base dmg and also no other stats.
Delay on martial bow is shorter too, so your tp return on normal shots, barrage and benefit from quick shot are reduced.

Especially considering that its not equipable until lvl. 72, at which point accuracy will not be an issue on anything other than some HNM's, in which case you'll want a Hellfire, E-bow, or S-bow for best damage.
Regular VT-low IT mobs at lvl 70, I'm not eating sushi or getting prelude, and I have little problem at all landing slugwinders at barely over 100%. You wait until 120% at that point and you'll be golden.

EDIT: Of further note, those numbers listed are the secondary modifiers. The primary modifier for all damaging ws's is STR.

1.) Don't waste your $$$ on Martial Bow. It's trash, trust me.

2.) Sidewinders' Dmg is the result of a crazy calculation with, as most have said, STR and AGI being the modifiers. The exact %'s are STR_16% and AGI_25%.

3.) As VZX said you want more Ratk, def down if you can get it(Dia, acid bolts, etc), STR, higher base dmg weapon/ammo and AGI.

The order I would be concerned about them is like so:
Ratk > STR > Weapon Dmg > AGI

The Defense down from Dia I, II, III or Acids will be there so I wouldn't worry about it.

4.) As far as TP and Sideslugs go 150%TP is your safest bet.
