    Crossposting this test I did, because ffxionline is still the only forum with a decent search function:

    Just a little quick-and-dirty test I did. Sample size is far from large, but I think you will probably draw the same conclusions I did.

    Test subject:
    RDM75/RNG37 in Sauromugue Champaign on Earthsday using Ice Arrows. Number listed is amount of additional effect damage.

    You'd be well within your rights to request a larger sample size, but for the time being, I consider this myth BUSTED.

    Very interesting. Clearly no effect on the damage as far as I can see...do you suppose INT may affect resist rates (if any...last time I used an additional effect weapon it was Fire Sword at around 17, and it hardly kicked in on ITs; I can barely remember the numbers it did) though and activation rate on mobs that are higher than you? It's something that's been bothering me for a while, since added effect weapons seem to kick in more on weaker enemies.

      Thanks Dan, I think I'd heard the myth on KI too, your info is much appreciated. Do you also have your info from testing INT and Bloody bolts? That'd be great to have here too.

        Supposedly bloody bolts are effected by vit not int.

          Never really considered that the elemental arrows were affected by any character stats. Guess it makes sense with Holy Bolts being effected by MND.

          Guess I need to pay attention to my additional effects. I've got every stat raised or frequently change gear on situations to raise any stat at least +10 and never have had elemental arrows do anything different then 7-10 damage. Never even seen a pattern of frequency or anything.

          Only thing I have learned with some of the stuff I've done is it seems some setups you do can actually cause the chances of an arrow to lose it's additional effects. I've had setups I did before were sleep arrows would never sleep anything and bloody bolts losing the HP drain effect. Never seen anything though that improves the additional effects.

          From the pattern it's going if anything would effect additional effects I would guess it would either be VIT, MND, INT, or CHR and probably is situational to what element arrow you use. Outside of that I've never really had much of a care for additional effects if they kick in and do good then kudos to it, otherwise oh well.

            That was more of an "observation" than a test.

            I just happened to notice that while farming Ancient Bombs in Movalpolos, my Bloody Bolt proc seemed to drop from 30-40 to 10-20 when I was hit with Heat Wave (Burn effect, INT down).
