North San d'Oria guild shop (Look at your map and it will show a picture and some words of the guild) I think it is right by the zone point to Port San d'Oria.

Become a member of the guild, that is your first step. I dont know the name of the NPC though. Take your tests at 8, 18, 28, etc. It allows you to go beyond the the next level and gives you a new title for you skill level. The guy for your tests is right outside the shop just standing thee looking at some tall structure or something like that.

Start accumulating points for woodworking skill by turning in items for your Guild Points.

it's great that you guys are chiming in with input, but realize 1) the thread is a year old and the OP is probably gone by now and 2) this is turning into (maybe always was) a crafting discussion

blame me all you want, but I'm going to close this thread to avoid more necro posting. if you want to discuss tips on woodworking, I kindly ask you do that in the crafting forum. if you want to discuss the merits of taking up woodworking as RNG, please start another thread.
