Do you mean the cap imposed by the food, or natural cap?
First off, you will NEVER EVER EVER hit natural damage cap on monsters you xp on. Natural damage cap refers to the default ATK<->DEF check and the STR<->VIT check. Once again, you will never reach this on monsters you xp on. If you raise your STR and notice no difference, it is not because you hit a damage cap. If you are fighting crabs or other high DEF/VIT monsters, it just means you are not adding enough STR/ATK to make a noticeable difference. Remember crabs are paladin type monsters, in terms of job traits; they have Def UP traits every 10-20 levels just like PLDs, with naturally high VIT.
Now, I believe there is an attack cap from food, meaning you can only increase ATK to a certain point using food, right? If you're referring to this cap, I'd assume the same type of cap would exist for RNG ATK... but this is pure speculation.
