  • Mnd + Holy Bolts

I've posted this on other forums and have been told several times that mnd affects the additional damage that holy bolts will do. Has anyone ever tested to see how much it affects additional damage done? I've been meaning to do so but havn't xped my rng for a while now.

Any feedback would be great, thanks!

yeah mind affects the dmg on all status ammo.

hence mithras gimpy dmg in the additional area.

sucks having the worst mind of anyone.

hence guns for me full time, i have no choice holy bolts fired from me arnt the same as fromm a hume or elvaan

i haven't noticed a major difference in additional effects between my bolts and a hume's. they're both pretty random and rely more on the resists of the mob than the race imo.

yeah i was thinking that too...

but compare yours to an elvaan and you will see you never get more additional dmg then them

Here's the damage distribution of additional effects of Holy Bolt.

            http://www5.sppd.ne.jp/grendal/FF11/holy.gif

Blue Graph: Basic Setup (see the picture attached)
Red Graph: MND+11 and Light Staff

I shot 99 Holy Bolts on Evil Weapons in Batallia for each case. Average Damage was 40.4 with basic setup and 51.0 with MND+ gears and Light Staff.

            MND+ gears I used were

            - Light Staff (+1)
            - Holy Phial (+3)
            - Taru RSE Body (+1)
            - Taru RSE Legs (+2)
            - Saintly Ring * 2 (+4)

So, it seems that MND helps to increase the damage of additional effects as this has been reported. Not many MND+ gears are available at my LV and I won't do this in XP PT for now anyway.

Or it could be the light staff making the difference. Youre changing a lot of variables with that equipment, not just mnd.

              Interesting no doubt.

As a matter of fact, Light Staff is said to prevent additional light-based damages from being resisted. Well, I will do another test without it.
