L60+ Ammo question

Now, I have been seriously thinking about farming the gil for that e-bow, mainly because it would allow me to reach good results without blowing all my gil in silver bullets.

I just recently, however, noticed that demon arrows, which are quite a bit more powerful than scorpion arrows, have climbed to 13k/stack, which is almost as much as silver bullets and completely destroys my plan to save gil in the long run by using e-bow.

My question is: Would using e-bow + mostly scorpions suck so much that using for example, a Heavy Crossbow +1 with holy/acid would come out on top of it?

HXbow+1 + DarkSteel bolt can do about the same damage as my war bow+1 +scorp (w/o defense down)
Darksteel bolt is not as pricey as demon, but since you fire it almost 1.5x times faster. I think you'll end up losing the same amount of money. (better damage, lower accuracy, but not signifcantly lower)
