i'm trying to decide on mnk or rng. after i finishing selling all my current gear and random other stuff i should have almost 4 million gil. i was wondering how far will i get as an rng with this before farming. i'm planning on using a bow, not a gun so that should save some money. like after buying good gear, how long will i have before arrows drain all my gil?

You want to keep Archery and Marksmanship capped. So only going bow will only hurt you in the long run. When capping Marksmanship, you don't have to use a gun; use a xbow. But you could, if you want to toy around with it. Sometimes I wish I could just go bow, then Lv. Marksmanship when I get Obow then go gun and then Lv. my bow for fun at the end. But I hear it's much harder that way.
I'm only a Lv. 12 RNG but I have 112,000g and I just went to 98,000g because I bought a new xbow. Either way, you're going to be getting the money back. If you buy a gun, you can always resell. If you're talking on just ammo alone... I'd say you got a while. It also depends on your race. If you're a Elvaan, you can use RSE instead of Leaping Boots. And, if you're any race you can use a Noct+1 instead of Emperor's Hairpin. Unfortunatley, Lv. 30 is my highest job and I'm unable to get a hairpin. It's only one less AGI so I'll be okay. -
Heh, in all honesty, 4 mil can very well take you all the way to lvl 75... if used the right way (albeit, you'd have to pass up high ticket RNG equipment like the E. Bow, Hellfire +1, Amement Mantle +1, etc.) I took RNG to lvl 63 with about 750k in all, surely 4 mil will get you far :p

umm i didnt cap marks till level 53 ranger, and used sleep bolts to basically cap it with 3 trips to CN....
marks caps sooo ez its not even funny.
4 mill could get you far, or not far at all, depending on how you use it.
xbow rangers and gun rangers are gonna be using more gil for ammo then bow rangers....Why be like someone famous when you can be like me.
