umm, this might sound kinda wierd, but no food...

I dunno since the patch kabobs add 0 damaghe to your ranged accuracy, and the only food i've found that works is yellow curry, BUT!! that cost 7-10 for one, and they last 3-4 hours havent timed it yet.

well, level 9, you should be level 14 in no time, when you hit 14, use 1 yellow curry, and you could solo worms in the maze till 16, get those ra rings on, and blast to as far as level 20 soloing worms there if you like, but those mandy type things in bubu can be soloed at level 18 ranger, so you might wanna go there.

IMO all parties pre-20 you run the risk of having a new guy, and its a complete waste fo your precious fang arrows...lol

j/k dhamal pie...hrmm wut does that do, i soloed my nin 2 levels last night using /rng gun and bullets, i need food that gives ranged accuracy, i hit pretty nicely with RA rings, but i dont like missing at all...lol

So assuming I ever start lvling again, I've heard from many ppl, both here and on my server that yellow curry is the way to go. Question is though noone can tell me how much it helps. Is it about equal to what meat mithkas did or is it the only possible substitute anymore? Does it even affect ranged atk or does it increase ranged accuracy?
          I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

man im gonna say this, and i know it shouldnt be said, but its FACT

some parties arnt worth any food at all, i now buy two yellow curry just in case i die and the party is really good...ok

so the party had an incredible tank, taru nin, didnt really melee much just used the wheel like a champion of hate. he gets killed because the whm is not doing her job...HEALING!!!

the timing is imaculate, because moments before i had barraged for 712 dmg, the war nin could peel the hate to save his life, i die

..start back up, first mob i pull, the nin never gets cured, he is blinking like crazy before he sends me a tell saying zone, im wasting all my shihei because the whm is afk or something, so im like ok...but i dont zone because the war is a friend, and he wasnt gonna leave the brd his friend there to die, and the brd wasnt gonna leave the whm...so yeah i die....two yellow curry down in 15 mins, 15k i was soooooooo pissed.

so yeah no food forget them, i can understand fluke deaths and they dont bother me, but 15k in 15 mins, thats like literally droping your gil.

cheap salads can give you ranged accuracy boosts, which may be more useful than adding to damage (if your arrows aren't hitting). Curry and Coeurl Sautee's boosts are more useful for higher lvls where its high cap comes into play...

As long as your overall attack rating is under100, Navarins can be very useful; it's got a low cap of 30, but raises ATK by 30% and the food threads have said it does affect ranged dmg as well...

ranger food in order of usefullness to you....damging food only, accuracy can be obtained through gear more easily then ranged attack.

marbled steak>>bison steak>>red curry>>yellow curry>> broiled trout>>broiled papira>>navarian>>any type of sush ( i have tested every type of sushi in the game with a full stack of each kind, sole squid, ect... none of them increase dmg by the amount of yellow curry (they all cost more) and the ranged acccuracy boost i got wasnt noticable at all, and sometimes i felt the sushi made me less accurate.

bottom line best deal for the gil is yellow curry....biggest boost to dmg will come with marbled steak

tried roasted papira, its nearly worthless. You forgot rice dumplings and dhalmel pies/steaks in there. They're better than any of the fish dishes I've tried.

Also, courel sautee ranks up there with yellow curry but has different stat boosts. I'd stick rice dumplings + dhalmel pies right after yellow curry. The pies/dumplings give almost as much boost as the old kabobs did (i'm 74 atm) and they stack so they're nice for those "probably will die" situations like HNMs and "probably short" parties.

hrrmm, ive been in a 4 rng party the last few days so been using one marbled steak a day.

w/ my must+1 gun it does wonders....

dhamel pies havent been sold in ages....i'll never find one of those...

i'll try the sauttee tonight, and the steak if theres one of those.

i tried a red curry and like it better then the marbled steak....

but yellow is still the best...i cant spend 10k on food when ammo cost 13k a stack.
