RNG Sub

My RNG Is Only 7-8 Atm, But I'm Planning On Taking It To 50-51. Should I Sub THF, NIN, Or WAR? I Was Planning On THF For Steal, Gilfinder, and Treasure Hunter So That I could Make Some Money While I Spend It lol. And In That Case I would Lvl My THF To 45 And Be Able To Farm...It Would Be Hard For Me To Lvl WAR and I Think Taru Has Good Agi. To Deal DMG With.. I Also Heard NIN Is A Good Sub, But It Would Be Sooo Expensive... In That Case, Since I Have WAR At 8, I Would :

RNG/WAR 1-10 (Solo Power)

RNG/THF 10-20/24 (Steal)

RNG/NIN 20/24-51 ( Utsusemi And Dbl. Daggers)


Any Opinions Would Be Great, THX! :spin:

At level 12 in Ninja, you get Utsusemi: Ichi, so most players like to do rng/nin at 24. You can start rng/nin at 20, since nin10 gives you Dual Wield.

But keep war up to speed, and indicate in your search message that you can do both war and nin as subs, since this gives you more flexibility in parties. If you have thf in the party, he can potentially SA/TA you (although as a taru rng I don't really feel comfortable with this, lol).

no1 has ever asked me to sub war when i could sub nin...just FYI, same goes for the 4 other rngs in my LS

sam/rng is a cool combo, not the other way around, sam gives a horrid agi boost, so your ranged accuracy would suffer at the benefit of a few more tp points gained.

rngs already gain tp almost as fast as samurai's, so that will never be a problem, with barrage, and ranged attacks, i am always ding right behind the sam for the sc rdy macros.

why:

rng war is the most powerfull and acurate your rng can be untill level 24.

at 24, nin's get utsusemi so you can blink a few hits of dmg allowing you to speed up your rate of fire, causeing more damage.

at 28 you can duel wield archer's knives. (+10 rng acc. each) this is so cricial as a rng i cant even explain it fully, you will waste, time, arrows, and gil by subbing war instead of nin post level 28, you can barely hit as it is when fighting IT mandys you NEED that +20 ranged accuracy.

arguing against that. You don't NEED to sub nin to hit stuff post 28 either, that's just a popular myth. At lvl 30ish your tanks are so crappy that if you draw hate and continue spamming arrows anyway, you're going to be tanking for the rest of the round, utsusemi or not.

later on when plds get flash and cover, its good to sub war because you can go all out and have the plds cover now that the timer's down to 3 minutes. If you're pting with a nin tank, its good to have a backup voke to turn it after a WS if it doesn't draw enough hate (and it usually won't until you get sidewinder) so thf can SATA onto the tank.

nin is much better defensively while war is much better offensively. of course post 74 there's no reason to not sub nin...

while spaming arrows will let you hit almost as much as a rng/nin for more dmg per shot, you'll be wasting arrows on the misses, and your barrage will never hit for as much as a rng/nin who is duel wielding archers/hawkers.

a pld can use cover, but i havent seen many who really know when and how to use it, i died twice in CN when i called out "using barrage, please cover me it'll do big dmg (fighting flys)

bam barrage for 702 (warcry was up too) and hate couldnt be taken off me, i begged for cover even ran behind the pld and he didnt use it, twice i died using barrage, and its like come on dammit i have to use the ability im not spaming it inbetween tons of ranged attacks and WSs, so theres no reason cover shouldnt be used.

its unfortunate you had a POS tank. That doesn't prove anything though. I already stated nin is much better defensively, and its probably a very good choice when you're pting with unknown plds or plds that are known to suck ass.

its true barrages on /war will usually not be higher than /nin's, but that's usually made up by the 25% increase in shot strength on normal hits. for 2.5 minutes. Its your preference, both are good for certain situations.

wasting arrows should not even be considered when you're exping. You shoot, you miss, it happens.

Okay, Thanx....I Think Ill /WAR to 20/24, then go to /NIN for the rest...i may try to keep WAR up but as taru will be hard..thx for the opinions
