  • How does Widescan get better?

I'm level 11 and it's not too "wide" but does it get better? If so when? Will it ever encompass the whole zone?

i think lvl....60 is when it covers the whole map.

Can't speak for higher lvls, but at lvl 61 it's about 4 squares each direction (no, it doesn't cover the whole map ;3)

Wide Scan gets larger at levels 20, 40, and 60.

This applies to both Rng and Bst. Though, Rng widescan has a larger radius than Bst.

As to the size of the scan, I never measured it so I couldn't tell you, but the difference is significant.

It's different per map. IE Konstacht is huge compared to an area like garliage. I can already widescan most if not all of the first floor with widescan which encompasses a fairly large area grid wise, but still only a grid and a half or so in konstacht.

its not necessarily good to have such a huge scan radius.... the list takes longer to load up and there's just so many red dots on the map.

Heh, my opinion is SE should add a widescan filter for certain mobs, but sadly that would add way to much of an edge for rng for NM hunting

A filter for mobs would be great. You should be able to click on a certain mob in the overall widescan, select an icon for filtering, then it would show only those mobs of that name.

This wouldn't give any real advantage for NM's as you'd have to pick the NM name out of the whole list just like now anyways.

I think a range filter to tune it down would be more useful, sadly :/

You can use remote scan to filter it a bit. It scans more or less depending on how zoomed in or out of your map you are.

Remote scan is handy for checking a fairly small area. I'm pretty familiar with using it, but its still wouldn't be nearly as handy as being able to step the range down. It takes so long to load all the mobs sometimes.

I use it sometimes, but in order to track you need to shift your cursor back up to "track" instead of remote scan.

So many times i acicdently click on "remote scan" again and it just refreshes the list and I lose where the monster is. -_-

and seeing the whole map isn't good either. I hate scanning in garliage because of all the freggin dots.... they're everywhere...
