I agree, xcal, but if you've read enough of John Doe's posts, you should know that arguing with him is pointless. Even with all his selective reading and tangents, I'd much rather argue with Dan than Joe, since the former actually attempts to use logic and common sense (albeit not always successfully). That's why I didn't want to bother.

The topic of this thread originally was the 'practicality' of sneak attack + sidewinder. This was already addressed in the first page of the thread. It then took some twists and turns into sneak attack's accuracy then sidewinder's damage. It is impractical to make a new thread every time a diversion is made in a thread, especially if the main post has already been addressed.

In this case, it has. We are not getting off topic because the topic was already addressed and concluded, and we formed our own topic.

I think our new topic has been addressed and concluded as well. All I see is Dan refusing to admit he was hypocritically ignorant and arrogant.

This thread will probably be closed soon, since everything has really been addressed, and the only ongoing debate is significantly one sided. If it doesn't get closed... well, this sure provides some entertainment for me at work as well.

To be completely fair, Dan has provided some good information in past threads as well. I particularly liked his NIN/RNG thread for example. However, the manner in which he presents some of his information and corrections is haughty, arrogant, and sometimes hypocritical, which is why it would eventually bite him in the ass. He has already admitted he was wrong about his information; at the moment he is just refusing to admit he was an arrogant hypocrite. I don't think he ever will, so I suspect this thread will live until it gets closed (if ever)... and as you say, it is prime entertainment.

Some examples would be the discussion between Spider-Dan and Rugal. While they do appear hostile, but the heated discussion so far that they had is not considered flaming. Wow, 8 pages of debating weather Sidewinder does 4x damage or 5x.

I do agree that many descritpions and labels on this game are wrong or duplicated. However what I have noticed as well is usually the discrepencies can be noticed if compairing the Japanese descritpions and the English descriptions.

Its known that many shields over I think it was lv. 40 were not labeled as usable by BSTs on the English version. The concluded reason SE didn't label them is they were not expecting the NA players to get that high in level so fast. In the end the poor descriptions and labeling done in the English version were not present in the Japanese version.

I am curious to see if anyone ever bothered to obtain the labeling for that WS in the Japanese version? With the level of intellect I've experienced recently with people working in Corporate like settings I've noticed that many often will be extrodinary in their skill but come up very short in skills such as English. With that in mind I could see Easily that during the English translation whoever wrote up that description may of gotten quadruple and quintuple mixed up.

Any RNG 70+ exp'd on the dhamels in Bibiki Bay? I use defense down bolts, then darksteel + othinus bow, and when the dumb thing used berserk, my shots capped at 315, and slug shot capped at 1875 everytime.. same for the taru rng in my last PT there >.<
