Sneak and Trick is based on DEX and AGI right but it can be fixed with money and dont go saying that a mithra can spend money too and still have more dex because there is a damage cap. If a mithra bases all her gear on DEX and AGI then an Elvaan will out-damage the mithra hard due to the fact elvaan have high STR.

I have yet to see a mithra out damage me but I have seen some that do as much.

dude, indivual screenshots like that arnt impressive. i mean your on flies(dagger does more to them) + you had a brd lol. I remember arching arrow not being a shitty closing ws on flies back 67-68.

basicly it says slugshot and heavy shot are agi based, when calculating bonus dmg, but str does effect your base atk.

Get the hell off your Elvaan-fanboy kick and come to grips that Mithra is the best race for Thief and Elvaans are the worst race for Thief.

Players having your ridiculous gil can try and compensate, but a Mithra will always be superior to an Elvaan in the Thief job all things equal.

Its always amazing what you'll see Elvaans arguing. They'll try to argue they are the best Mage, the best Thief, the best everything. Fuck, the entire game should be comprised solely of Elvaans and nothing else, you guys are apparently just that awesome.

Seriously, Elvaan Thiefs are beyond shit, they are just unbarable later on and thats assuming you get "a good one". An Elvaan Thief a few weeks back was hitting an average 300-400 less on Dancing Edge than the Mithra Thief's I had partied with the previous few days. Utter, utter shit - do not consider it.

I don't hate them at all. I just hate rampant stupidity and this zealous pro-Elvaan stance prevalent everywhere.

I'm now a Galka, and I can assure you will never catch me saying stupid-ass shit like a Galka makes "the best" RDM, or "the best" THF.

Yet, you see this shit with Elvaans ALL the time. Its pathetic, frankly.

Basically the only reason I posted at all. I see mainly Elvaans trying so hard to justify themselves, whereas the other races kinda just keep their mouth shut and play the game. They do not have a need to go on these boards and try to prove, "oh this race is better for this class than that other race." Or "look, I threw 100 times more gil into this job and am outperforming X race."

But to give those Elvaan some credit, there are a lot of "Elvaan suck as job Y" threads out there... My whole point is you should state your facts for the public to see, and then say "see, I just proved an Elvaan Z can perform as well as this other race." And stop there, no need to go beyond that and say "well, I have performed better than every other race I have encountered, thus Elvaans make the best Z."

I think your first sentence explains alot of the raving going around by elv players. There is really a lot of hate directed at elvaans for some reason. How would you like to be constantly badgered by people saying you can't play the job you want with the race you want?

Ultimately, I think we can all agree that Elvaan can make very good rangers.

You still don't see us "spurned" Galkas coming into the mage forums and going "so this one time I bursted for 2 more damage than a Taru, thus Galkas make the best mage!"

Truth be told, I don't see the hate on galkas as much as elvaan. Aside from mages, galkas are pretty well accepted. As for us elvaan, we get hate on for being mages, thieves, rangers and even melee to some extent (ex. "omg elvaan suck! they miss so much").

That's because galka don't usually come onto the forums to defend their epenis in my experience. Also in my experience, more people who don't know anything about the game (typically stereotyped as PS2 noobs but not always true) play elvaan and just SUCK at EVERYTHING they do. This has almost always been my experience. And people say elvaan suck at melee because they have the LOWEST DEX in the game meaning they hit a lot less than anyone else. Sure they can spend a lot of money to compensate, but as it's been said, a galka can spend the same amount of money to be equal in gear, but they still have the extra dex boost they get from not being elvaan so they WILL hit more. They also have awesome STR so they will hit for very nice damage.
