  • Ranger Accuracy Trait

I hadn't seen anything on this on this board, so I thought I'd post this here. A RDM post under RDM archery said the official guide book sanctioned by SE (only available in japanese) says the following about RNGs accuracy trait:

    RNG10 : +10 Accuracy/Ranged Accuracy
    RNG30 : +12 Accuracy/Ranged Accuracy
    RNG50 : +13 Accuracy/Ranged Accuracy

Just thought that was really interesting and worth posting here. Also makes you think more about /RNG for low accuracy classes, heh.

Yeah I believe so. He just didn't post what the bonus was. Probably one more than 50.

Do they stack or overwrite eachother?
Finally got Rank 5! *Sings the "I love my Airship Pass" song*

It's also in the Brady Guide (spring edition). But, it only says physical attacks, not ranged attacks. Rng level 10, 30, 50, and 70 gets them. Doesn't give a number. And I would bet money that they don't stack, but they overwrite each other. This is because as sam75/rng37, i'd get +22 accuracy (if that jp guide is correct) if they stacked. And, it sure doesn't seem like I have +22 accuracy. +12 accuracy? Sure.

It's like a typical job trait and overwrites the previous ones, pretty sure on that.

same with clear minds on Whm and dual wield/Martial arts...

none of them stack. its just the more powerful variety overwrites.

I'm not so sure they don't stack. 30 & 50 are still huge accuracy boosts, and the fact I can hit stuff far far above my axe skill without too much difficulty....

Hmm that +acc bonus makes it a pretty good sub for skillup PTs if you are slacking badly on a weapon.

Well, I should have written something like this.

                    RNG10: +10 Acc/R-Acc
                    RNG30: +22 (10+12) Acc/R-Acc
                    RNG50: +35 (10+12+13) Acc/R-Acc
                    RNG70: +48 (10+12+13+13) Acc/R-Acc

I tell you Rangers are so fucking overpowered. And the best thing is Square's probably never going to do anything about it.

Lol yeah, but I gotta amend that statement a little bit. Rangers with money are pretty damn powerful. Rangers without money = worthless crap. So I think the extra power iis balanced out by the extra money we have to pay.

I'll agree with that somewhat. But seeing as how nobody can farm like a ranger or camp nm's like a ranger making money isn't that much of a problem. Keeping money well that's a different story.

Yeah, I have to agree that SMNs and RNGs are the most overpowered classes in the game. And yeah, this trait makes going /RNG very useful. I used it with my WAR to skillup Gaxe while in Yuhtunga levelling :D

Wow, that's ridiculous, not only is their + rnged accuracy items cheap as hell... they get acc bonuses as late as 70 + barrage, WTF ?

Meanwhile, when I played DRK, SE couldn't even toss me an ACC + bonus trait at 70 to give me reason to keep trying?

the SE guys were watching too much LOTR when they decided to create ranger.

To make it even better, they should give rangers ATT + bonuses at 15, 35, 55, and 75

                              and more super powerful WS,

meanwhile, other job classes should have - ACC traits as incentive to go rng.
