  • Damage Arrows vs. Accuracy Arrows

Which do you use? I know pre-level 28 Beetle Arrows are pretty much a must, but when you have that extra +20 RA, would the loss of the +5 accuracy given by accuracy arrows hurt your accuracy that much, or could I go all out damage and use the more damaging arrows?

My initial reaction to this question was to go accuracy all the way, but I've seen rangers, even those prior to level 20, using the more damaging arrows over Beetle Arrows. This leads me to believe that accuracy isn't everything where arrow choice is concerned.

No, actually they're not. Beetle arrow damage is extremely gimp Vs. the new fang arrows, or silvers.

Most people at that level that use damage arrows figure they're hit rate is going to be so-so no matter what they use, they can at least do good damage from hits.

Post 29, this won't be a problem because the most updated arrows are generally acc/damage all into one.

i haven't noticed that the arrow damage plays a very big part in overall damage..

5 arrow damage(difference between iron and silver arrows) only translated into about 5 extra actual damage for me. and when you're doing 80-100 dmg, 5 extra per shot isn't a big percentage.
In fact I noticed times when I was hitting damage caps, and using silver arrows over fang didn't give me any increased dmg at all.

I would suggest you stick with the +racc arrows. If you feel confident in hitting your weapon skills, you can switch out to silver arrows for 10-15 extra dmg, but the extra damage won't blow you away by any means.
Extra bow damage seems to increase dmg output more than arrow dmg does.. at least in my experience.

        2 Things.

Arrow damage won't show up nearly as much if you're fighting "hard skinned" enemies like crabs and beetles. You are correct there, you won't get "too" much base damage improvment. Move to something more soft-skinned, and you'll get an easy 2 point jump per point of arrow damage. (More if you use berserk)

Second, the damage difference for me between silvers and irons was around 10 a shot. considering this was in qufim/yhutunga groups doing 55-65 a shot, this was pretty big.

I guess try them out and see how they work on what you're fighting. If you're not happy with the results, you can always switch.

Early on, Acc over damage. What use is an arrow if you can't hit anything good with it? Remember, if you can connect with 75% of your hits with a less damage, more acc arrow, it'll do more damage than if you land 50% of your hits with an uber damage, no acc arrow.

          Think about it.

It's not that much of an Acc difference though

Still not good enough for my tastes...oh well, only 6 more levels til I get my +20 RA. THEN those mandragoras will feel my full wrath!

i'm just going to post this now so that you don't get your hopes up and then post a "why am i still not hitting" thread.

when you hit 28 and get dual archers knives, you'll still miss a ton.
when you hit 30 and get your second racc passive job trait, you'll hit a ton.

it doesn't make any sense that +20 racc shouldn't make you hit alot more, but the reality is, you won't.

but when you hit 30 you'll notice a big difference..
so just don't get discouraged if you're still missing alot at 28.
