  • Ok please help me =)

When i first got final fantasy 11 all i wanted too be was a ranger.
But little did i know that it was such an expensive job.
I got too lvl 30 whm the other day and have leveled samurai up too lvl 25.
What i wanted too know was, how did u all make the money needed to become so efficient as a ranger. It seems iv tried everything but nothing is making me enough money.

I tried camping NMs but there all far to overcamped and as a sam/war i never manage to beat the high lvl thf/rng to the NM etc...

What im doing now is farming gil and items at king ranperres tomb
the gobs there are easy too kill and drop wild onions that sell for a moderatley good price. (around 4k in cerberus)
But the process is really slow. Also i try and kill the spook as much as i can but iv never received the travelers mantle. =(

My next idea is too lvl samurai too lvl 30 and then thf too lvl 15 so that ill be strong and have the Treasure hunter ability.
So that should make farming easier. right?

Please i want as much info as i can get on how to make the most money possible at my current level, how much gil i would need roughly to get rng all the way too lvl 30 and be as effective as possible.

This question has probably be asked so many times but iv never seen anyone give a definate answer, so please as much info as possible will be greatfully accepted.

Thank your for your time =)

How much gil do you have right now, if you sold everything in your possession?

The reason I ask is we can calculate how far you can get rng in order to be an ubber leet farmer. RNG/THF Remember, You can farm as a ranger too.

      ok i have

a full set of chain mail armour = roughly 30K

a few bits of fine leather armour = 10K

      2 amytheyst rings = 30K

      1 spike necklace = 10-15K

10K on me at the moment

and about 15K worth of items reasy to be sold

about 100K all in all give or take a few thousand.

        ...

        At this point you should level Thf to 15 and collect another 10k-20k or so in items you can sell, fire crystals, wild onyons, goblin armor, behive chips, silk thread, etc. Now you are closer to having your farming god. rng/thf. Do not use this job combo in a party tho -_-;

Now buy your Hunters Long Bow for level 12, and the cheap bows from lvl 1-11. Wood arrows untill you can use bone, and then iron at 14.

I think you should start rng sooner then later so you see how fun it is, and want to farm even harder.

        ^^

Dont be a cheap RNG in parties. If you cannot afford the arrows, you need to be farming and not leveling.

Imagine how anoying it would be to invite a BLM who was LFG, and could not afford to have MP. Your GIL = Your MP. Dont ever forget that.

Now go out there and make peope say WOW.

Just the info i was after thanks man =)
One thing im a bit confused about is the effect of the different stats.
as a ranger what stat would i be looking to improve on the most
i hear Agility is the best as it improves ranged accuracy, am i right in thinking that?
of course ill invest in ranged accuracy + items
but i wasnt sure if STR and DEX are important as a rng

AGI helps your ranged accuracy, but rather then focusing on AGI it's easier to focus on ranged accuracy directly. You'll get better results using items that increase a specific stat that you know needs to be increased high unlike AGI which focuses on multiple stats.

STR and DEX are used by rangers as well. STR will push the average damage you do so how much damage each hit does when you average it all will be effected by STR. DEX increases the critical hit rate. Getting some boosts to these are good around +4 you'll notice a difference with them, something you'll want to focus on raising to is Ranged Attack and Attack. The Ranged Attack and Attack changes the max potential damage.

The higher those are raised when you do your Weapon Skills, Criticals, or the rangers Eagle Eye Shot you'll notice a significant difference in damage. I surprise a party I was helping once when I took out the Seeker in the M6 dragon match in 1 shot using Silver Arrows with almost 130 attack and my 2hr. kind of wished I did that on the dragon first to see how much it would do to him.

Anyway that Seeker when I did that took about 650 damage, without all the attack boosts and having an attack around 90 I only ended up doing about 400 damage. Still nearly killed him needed a couple of hits but didn't shock anyone in that party like the 650 damage did.
