It slows down considerably compared to normal places to xp after 25 or so. Even in Qufim, I only killed worms while waiting for parties. Another thing to think about is the money you spend soloing worms vs the money you spend chaining crabs or pugils in Qufim or chaining Mandies in Yhoator in a group. You don't have to shoot nearly as many arrows if you're in a group.

Actually, I followed that guide somewhat, but found a better spot for level 11-15/16: King Ranperre's Tomb. Get some prism powder and silent oil, head in there into the deeper part of the tomb, and in one of the branches underground, rock eaters spawn, around level 14-18. Excellent xp, no one but *no-one* is in there, and theres nothing to aggro you if you keep a sharp eye. If a worm pops next to you, just use a silent oil and move a wee bit. They do aggro from a short distance, as well as right when they pop.

I'll probably go check out shakrami now. Those worms should be good xp for a bit, but I really don't care to compete with the pt's.

At the endgame, I had: Full AF for RDM, RNG and NIN. Sky, Clothcraft 97, smithing 45 and far too much gil. My Jobs ended at RDM 75, NIN 65, RNG 59, BLM 37, WAR 33 and SMN 26. Finally, I synthed a Royal Cloak /signed/ for a friend.

      Time to move on.

See you all on the flip side (*'-')/

Well, I went from rng 8-23 in the span of 3 days.

I did rock eaters in La Theine from 8-11, in the very northern part of the map at the gash. There were maybe 1 or 2 gobs there, and no one ventured off the path so I pretty much had the run of the place.

11-16, as noted before, I did rock eaters in King Ranperres Tomb. Silent Oil and Prism Powder got me in without a hitch, and no one else was around.

16-21, I went to Korroloka Tunnel and killed land worms. Lots of pops, nothing to aggro and not many people around. This went really fast, and was quite easy.

21-23, was in Qufim. A bit harder, due to wights, giants, etc - not to mention pt's hunting the worms. I'm pretty sure some of them came to hate me, because I would spy a worm, and attack it before they even knew I was there. There is lots of competition, so I'll be glad to move at 24.

After 24, I'm probably going to hit Gusgen and see what thats like. Barring bad camps or competition, I'll probably get 30 or 31 in a day.

Good luck all with your ranger soloing!

Amphisbeanas in Gusgen are decent experience solo until 32, then altepa worms are your best bet. But like I said, they only spawn at night, which sucks.

Well, the range issue got nixed, so the easy method of soloing is gone. I sub ninja now and absorb the spells that the worms cast, but stonega will still kill rather fast. Unfortunately, the worms in gusgen are a bitch to get to...been very hard to kill them without several linking and casting on me.

Anyone know of spots where they're alone, with nothing else to aggro?

I've stopped soloing entirely, it was fun while it lasted though ^^

I find I enjoy partying with the people now...much more fun when I get some good players and can unload to my hearts content ^^
