You can usually outdamage them even if they chain nuke, if you have good gear + food, and are standing back shooting away. It's kinda scary though, particularly as you get higher in level.

So it'd be smart to get +earth resistance and +mnd gear?
(I believe MND lowers magic damage, correct me if I'm wrong)JohNNYOriginally posted by Luminaire

I do it the old fashion way...find the absolute futhest away u can hit em shoot once back of till they cast spell. back in one shot out wait for spell and so on.
not the fastest but for 140-200 exp per worm and if u can find the worms u can easy manage a chain3 or 4 its really great exp..
thing is u got to be really fast after first shot as if they get to far with the spell casting they will hit u even if u'r way out of danger zone.. so hit once and run for it asap. was kind of tricky to learn but it works..

I went to Shakrami at level 12, but I just can't seem to take the worms (I'm soloing). Using Hunter's Longbow and Bone Arrows, each shot does about 30 damage to the worms, but I'm only able to take them down halfway before I need to pull back. Their Stonega, despite my using Barstonra (which boosts my resistance up to about 50), does 80 damage, nearly half of my entire bar, and if they use Bind as well, I'm dead meat.
I've tried to run back before their magic goes off, but I just can't seem to get it to work.
What gives?

At about ~30 you can take worms in Altepa. They very rarely nuke, just spam stoneskin, which is not a big deal, just draws out the fight. Only disadvantage to Altepa worms is that they seem to only spawn at night (as far as I can tell). Also, watch out for anticans, cactuars, scorpions, etc. But it's not usually that hard to stay away from that stuff.
When I was at that level, I only solo'd the worms when I was waiting for a party.

Anakron: It takes a bit of training to make the hit and run work well... as I said in my latest post 2 post above yours u first need to find the absolute furthest away u can be to make a shot at it.... when u first start this stand at a spot really far of (u can try it on a really easy worm in the newbie areas to be sure of it before u try in maze) and hit ctrl-d to try to shoot it....
if to far of move one small step closer and hit ctrl-d again repeat till u get your first shot of. first hit is always hardest as their first spell comes really fast so u wont make it back before it hit u alot of times so dont be scared by this one spell wont kill u. Ok u hit your first arrow(well shot first one atleast wether it hit or not) now u run as fast as u can backwards so u'r outside where u hit it with the arrow ie it would tell u that u are to far away to shoot.
As soon as their u see the magic animation on the worm finish run in to the furthest spot and hit it with next arrow then bac out again as fast as u can wait till magic animation is of(will take a while after first hit just wait and u'r safe) and run back in again and so on....
will take a while to finish the worms of doing it this way but u'll get great exp and in my experiments its faster than most pt's at this lvl.
Timoham: I'm at 35 now as u can see what worms can I take for exp at this lvl in desert and where do they spawn? Thanx for the tip

There's worms in both Eastern and Western Altepa. Eastern worms should be IT too you still, I think... maybe not. Haven't been there in awhile. But anyway, they spawn all over the place, so track them down with widescan. But, like I said, they only spawn at night as far as I can tell.Woodworking: 60

Haven't tried the East Altepa ones in lvl 30ies, but at 42 I tried the W Altepa ones. The ones I killed were T 140-160 exp.
But I don't manage to avoid stonegaII, and it hurts badly (removes all my shadows too, I went with /nin sub), wich makes it not worth doing solo. With /nin it's the only annoying thing with them, otherwise they would be very good exp (at night, that is).
I don't think the idea of backing off after each arrow I shoot would work any better. Too slow, and the worm could start casting as soon as I come back within aggro range (and stonega2 is fast, too...).
Still a viable option for a duo with a rdm though. But night is too short
. I don't recommend trying with /whm since I think the W altepa ones can use ancient spells occasionally (maybe it s only the ones in quicksand caves though?).

I believe he means, they got in a pt but kept to themselves and didn't just kill one worm, each one of them would solo a worm withing getting exp range, and if they killed theirs before someone else killed theirs, get another one or help them. This would allow them to get huge chainsOriginally posted by Peppara
actually no where in this does it state that they are the same level as you.
and you said you are soloing worms...what you should have said is that you are hunting worms. Solo means solo as in by yourselfMost memorable WoW vent convos on Burning Legion:

My linkshell does something like that whenever we have a large amount of people in the range of level 8-12 of jobs they want to raise. If they can use a ranged attack (or even if they can't), everyone goes to Korroloka, stands out of range of the worms, and just uses ranged attacks on the worms until they die. We have a WHM or RDM keeping everyone healed from damage. It's slow exp, but every kill is 200 xp or more and it's mostly a time to get together and have fun. It works really well too, if someone happens to be levelling RNG. The RNG can take on a seperate worm while everyone else takes on the target worm, and we can actually get chains that way.
But mostly it's just tons of fun to group up with your linkshell and have mookish slaughter of worms :DWoodworking: 60

something to consider, at lower levels (like pre 24 or so... when you get more +agi) is using wild onions for +agi (total of +4 agi) helps my shots a lot... i missed less and the damage difference at low levels is marginal i'd imagine somewhere around 30ish the difference in damage is a bit wider, plus you have more +agi than you do before then

This was posted on Allakhazam :
I'm in La Thiene at the moment killing Tough Rock Eaters if I can find them for anywhere up to 140 exp, more if I find some close together to chain. I'm not sure how well the exp plays out after that.Lv1-7 kill Stone Eaters at King Ranperre's Tomb
These are easy but stay near zone and you might have to get an escort down here at lv1 through East Ronfaure.
Lv7-13 Kill Rock Eaters and/or Earth Eaters at La Theine PlateauThese are near the small lake near the Crag-Holla, also in those big holes.
Lv10-20 Kill Maze Makers at Maze of Shakhrami
These are right outside entrance but watch out for the gobies and if u go off a bit more, they also spawn there but be very careful around night since Ghoul WILL ALWAYS SPAWN inside this little house.
Lv20-25 Kill Land Worms at Qufim IsleEasy they spawn near entrance also all around the lake but again becareful when it hits night. Skeletons and Ghosts.
WARNING: Here After is where the Prism Powder and the Silent Oil comes in.
Lv25-30 Kill Ore Eater at Gusgen Mines
Its fairly easy if you get a good camp so you can run to where no mobs will agro you to rest after 1 fight.
Lv25-30 Kill Abyss Worm back at Maze of ShakhramiAbyss worms are pretty far into the Maze but the prism and silent should get you there.
The rest I really don’t have anything to say but be careful mobs in the next places are hard. So stay as close as possible as you can to zone. And don’t forget to use your Prism Powder and Silent Oil.
Lv25-30 Kill Amphisbaena at Gusgen Mines
Lv30-39 Kill Flesh Eaters at East Altepa Dessert
Lv39-46 Kill Dessert Worms at West Altepa Dessert
Lv46-57 Kill Sand Eaters at Quicksand Caves
Lv57-70 Kill Phantom Worms, Cave Worms, and Kuftal Diggers at Kuftal Tunnel.
