  • Level 13-18~ How'd I do?

Okay, well not really 18 but almost there. Anyways, when I first started out I was using regular everything but at level 14 I used the necklace given to me for rng quest, and had a bow equiped with +2 range acc and +5 atk I believe. I also had the dagger with +1 dex and agi equiped. I would have had LL boots and VE hairpin but didn't get a chance to buy them. Through out the entire PT I would make probably 1/3 shots, even with acc ability. I missed like 1/every 15 WS shots I tried.

Anywho, at level 15 I already used up two stacks and I started to use +5 acc arrows and they...really didn't help, so I switched back to level 7 and used the other arrows only for when I had to. Also..I bought two STR+2 rings before the PTing and ate kabobs the whole time, so my total str was +10. I was doing around 41-60 damage each shot and WS's were between 60-116. My two hour also made it up to 235. Did I do good during this Party time? Anything I should have done different? Like equipment wise. Please let me know. Thanks.

Tongyangs post pretty much covers all of this but.. Get some +1 ranged acc rings (bone rings in this case), a Power bow+1 at this level, and use the fang arrows. (These things are awesome for the level). Anything you can get that adds +agi after that is just gravy, but those are the single most cost effective boosts you can give yourself.

The ranged ACC is a progressive thing, you don't really notice the difference from 1 item, but when you get a few of them the difference really becomes apparent.

Yup, I did lv13-16 yesterday. Was using Hunter's Bow since lv12 with Bone Arrows, if available. If not Wooden Arrows are okay. After I hit lv14, Iron Arrows and Rng's necklace. At lv16 Power Bow +1, iron arrows are still okay, and Bone rings +1. I am Elvaan and ate mithrakabobs during the whole time. I was doing about 50-70 dmg per hit in the beginning and in the end at lv16, I started to do 60+. Didn't have much time to see my critical hits since I logged for the day. But Eagle Eye Shot did 306 dmg before the party ended. And we received a nice little 200 exp on that last IT mob. ^^

missing = part of low level :3

Also make sure ur mages debuff it so its defense is slightly lowered

I basicly skipped bone rings and waited until i could get beetle rings.

As for arrows, i stuck with iron until about 24 and then i switched to beetle arrows

my ranger is 18 right now and ive been using the neck +1 16 bow and 2 +1 acc rings. i probably have a 80% hit ratio for both regular and WSs. with sharpshot on i basically do not miss from what i have experienced. only problem is shooting for 60 a hit even without a mithkabob draws way too much agro for valkurm tanks. not to mention pulling and getting a hit right away especially on those flys.

Yes, missing happens quite a bit at our level, but....missing in Valk has increased my survivability by a large margin. Those fights that I turn the sharp shot on for, IT mobs, and manage to hit every shot make me want to cry. Luckily I've had some competent WHMs. ^^

I'm used to WAR and SAM, where I have a bit of a chance holding agro, I'm bloody tissue paper as RNG, so it's a big change!
