  • Fang Arrows

Anyone see these yet? You can see the stats here. They look like they were just added. Seeing how I just turned level 16 i couldn't be happier. I bought 8 stacks of arrowheads so I plan on making some tonight. I wonder if you can quiver them...

I think the real question is, whats the catch (cost of arrowheads?) or whats wrong there. Beetle arrows are trivial around 39 WW, do less damage, and have a higher level requirement. Just the fact that the guy can't make them at lvl 27 woodwork tells me their trivial info (30) is wrong.

That looks a little too rosey to me. Would be nice if it's true, I just think Allakhazam is full of it.

For one, the arrow is real because I have seen it on the AH. Second, I bought enough arrowheads to make 3600 arrows @ 2k per 12 arrowheads (I have 46 woodworking). The rest of the items are pretty standard. I am guessing the catch is 2 things. One, they are more expensive. Beetle arrowheads cost about half as much. Also, 99 fang arrows are going for 2k while 99 beetle arrows are going for 900-1k. Second, I doubt you can quiver these as there are no Fang quivers at the AH, although I will be trying.

Heheh.. I'm not debating that it exists, I think that I've seen it a while ago at the AH too. But, that being said, their trivial info is most likely wrong on it. Also, I wonder if they're going to shuffle minimum levels for some of the arrows.

Well the stats are correct. I verified that. The guy on allakazam said he did manage to fail so that would confirm the recipe is correct (would say invalid if it was a bad recipe). Not much else to confirm.

The problem I got now is finding a way to unload 24 quivers of beetle arrows I saved when leveling woodworking...

Skill level. No idea what your WW or the required is.

Well I made about 1600 of these arrows last night. I failed about 3 times out of 50 but I think that was due to a bad day (iceday). The next day, windsday, I don't think I failed once. I have 46 woodworking. Oh, and you can't quiver them so I still carry some iron quivers with me in case I run out.

So it looks like they have a similar trivial to beetle arrows then... interesting.

Good stuff obsidian, thanks for posting it

They aren't trivial and neither are beetle arrows because they have +5 ranged accuracy. The fact that fang arrows are lower level and have higher damage than beetle arrows makes them even better.

Trivial skill for making them. That being not getting any more skill increases out of them when you make em. Not trival as in useage

I think the downside to these arrows is that they aren't quiverable.

Squenix seems intent on making the best everyday leveling arrows (Scorpion, and now Fang) unquiverable. I don't understand the point of it. It's the same deal with crossbows; either I have to buy ridiculously overpriced darksteel bolts, or carry around stacks upon stacks of other bolts.

What's the point of adding quivers, and then putting all these bizarre obstacles in the way of actually using them?

just wondering, what exactly does quivering arrows do?

I asked a ranger in my party once, and he said it was similiar to clusters of crystals.

From what you guys are saying, I'm assuming that you can have 12 stacks of 99 arrows make a quiver? Something like that anyways...

Makes 99 arrows into 1 quiver, which are then stackable up to 12. Good space saver if you can do it.

So basically 1200 arrows for 1 inventory space. VERY nice.
