  • Why doesnt anyone suggest Galka?

I noiced when people ask what race for ranger.. everyone says mithra or elvaan are #1

Whats wrong with Galka? As far as ranger neccesary stats go (str for bow dmg, agi for Rng.Acc), galka is right in the middle of the two.

Galka vs. elvaan+mithra: Galka=More str than mithra but slightly lower dex and agi... Galka=Less str than elvaan but more dex and agi.. On top of that Galka have more HP and Vit than both of them.

So.. give the abnormally large tailed guys some credit..
Whip it up with an ass-whoopin'!

I personally think Galka is just as fine as any other race. However ehre are the stats so people can look...

(note: Race / Job no sub)
    Galka
Level HP MP STR DEX VIT AGI INT MND CHR
    50 818 0 40 40 49 46 34 40 31

    Elvaan
Level HP MP STR DEX VIT AGI INT MND CHR
    50 717 0 43 37 43 43 31 46 37

    Mithra
Level HP MP STR DEX VIT AGI INT MND CHR
    50 646 0 34 49 37 55 37 37 31

Alright looking at the charts it seems if the Elvaan has 4 more str the Galka will have 4 more agi etc.. Hope that helps .. If people like the Elvaan combo Galka is obviously just as viable.
However you get alot of people who dispute the elvaan combo in itself. Hope this helps people ^^

i don't see a problem with being galka... extra HP helps when you nail a sidewinder and is taking heat.

      but galkas are ugly.

Actually, Galkas would be more viable due to their much higher hp.

          galka rng

I think Galka rngs are at worst the 2nd best race for rng. Mithra would be first. Mithras just have higher dexterity and pull off criticals more often. The agility difference is almost negligable i think because there are so many +rnged accuracy items out there for rngs, the lower agi won't hurt the galkas much. I'm wondering if the rng weapon skills are based on agility, because that would definitely give mithra another advantage. I've seen a lvl 75 galka rng with that insane gun with 50 dmg that lowers rng accuracy by 10, so I'm assuming galka rnged accuracy isn't much of an issue at higher lvls.

The extra hp also helps sway the galka rngs to keep their more damaging warrior sub. They may not require a ninja for Utsusemi cause they can take many more hits.

Either way Galka rng is very viable and tons of fun, I am one and i haven't lost my love of rng yet! lvl 48 btw

I don't know why anyone would look at the stats and suggest an Elvaan Ranger. They make the worst Rangers of any race, as accuracy is the key to being a Ranger and Elvaan have the lowest Agi. I guess people are just going off the Legolas stereotype and their experience with Elves in other games.

Galka would have less trouble levelling up a War subjob than anyone else, and can somewhat take a beating when they get Aggro. They just need to load up on Ranged Accuracy items to the exclusion of all else to close the gap with the more agile races.

That said, a Mithra, Hume or even Taru with equal equipment will still hit more often and do more DoT.
            Anything you can do,
            Taru do better.
            Taru do anything
            Better than you

race just doesn't matter with rng. every race makes a decent ranger.
              but galkas are ugly XD

elvaan rngs just wanna be Legolas from LOTR
same way ninjas would rather be Ryu Hayabusa than a silly blink-tanker

it's a matter of what you want before you step into the job vs. what the job really has to offer, and how it can be used
