I just hit level 30 with my Ranger and got Barrage. Once it's activated on you, is all you do fire an arrow? Will it automatically do the barrage effect or do I have to do anything else to use the Barrage effect?

Barrage will be your next shot (after it is activated) whether it misses or not heh, mine has done anywhere from 80-300+ damage (im level 30 btw).
It acts like Sneak Attack sort of

barrage shoots 4 arrows at once (5 when you get to level 50).
however you can hit like 4 out of 4, or 1 out of 4 etc... hense why you'll usually do different damage each time. it also gives back lots and lots of TP.
