I'm sure you're aware of the HP and MP meters.

There's is also a 3rd meter that measures TP. Each time damage is dealt or sustained, you gain TP. When your TP meter reaches 100%, you can use your equipped weapon's "Weapon Skill" or WS, given that you have enough experience with that weapon to have a WS.

The more you use a weapon, the more Combat Skill points you gain. The higher the points, the more WSs you are able to use. (this really should be in its own post ^^)

Also note that the TP guage maxes out at 300%, so you can use a WS as long as the meter is anywhere between 100-300%.

WSs used in the correct order by several people in a party results in neet-o special-effect-eye-candy-goodness "Skill Chains" aka "Renkei" which deals extra damage and can also be followed up by a BLM's magic to perform "Magic Bursts" and sweet zombie jeezus this needs to be in another post :dead:

The only problem I see with a war sub is then people will expect you to tank, at least at lower levels, which really bugs me. Rangers shouldnt really be provoking should they?

At low lvls(which is the lvl10-30 range), there really isnt much of a difference IMO between most melee types so rngs are also expected to provoke when PT is in need of it. Just maybe not as much as maybe a PLD or a WAR.

It's starting to cause problems for me in groups, Even when I do it when it looks like an enemy is near dead.

Also, on a side note. one time right before I was gonna log off, I did 362 dmg 2hr, followed by 200+ dmg ws, followed by 200+ dmg barrage. THAT is what I live for. Ranger all dah way! woooo

As a lvl 30 Ranger, I was fighting Yhoator Mandragoras in my shiney new armor and figured hey, Lets try out my new ability!

So, I slapped on Berserk. Then Sharpshot.. Then barrage. And released a Horn Arrow into the mess. Over 500 damage. I don't think the mandragora liked it that much, as it wouldn't let go of me after that

i always out damage everyone in the party's ive been in since becoming ranger and get all the agrro.
luckily most of the time the warriors have been sensible enough to realise rangers arent tank's.
