Path and Sub for a Ranger?

Hello, I was thinking about what would be the best path to go for becoming a Ranger, and then once I became one what to have as a Sub Job... if you have any helpful hints please let me know.

IMO, Rangers only have 1 good sub from the starting six -> Warrior (and for the most part, it's the best). I would level up thief to 15, however, so you can take advantage of the thf's treasure hunter ability when farming for items.

So, I would go war/mnk to 30, then rng/war while changing to war/thf to farm.
