Does Taru make good rangers?

Im currently a Taru Whm, was thinking of becoming a ranger in future. Are Tarus able to be a good ranger? How do they fare as a ranger as compared to the other races?

i see you're a 50 taru ranger. i'm just curious, what sub job do you have right now? and what job did you take up to level 30? was it hard to get there? because i've been hearing that getting a taru warrior to level 30 is a great ordeal.

Some will frown on the taru war.. but what they dont realize is through gear you can nearly catch up to other wars. With some decent gear i was 25-30 hp less than a hume war at lvl 30.. but i had nearly 25 more defense...

Really its all about personality... good thing to do is sub up a monk to at least 10.. this will help with HP, counter atk, and boost... people will be less hesitant to group you then.

People will make fun of the taru war thing but its not a big deal.. just have fun 8) Establish a reputation with players your level as a good tank.. and stat and race diffrences will disappear.

I'm making my way to ranger as a Taru Warrior (currently lvl 25 now) and I must say so long as you are careful it isn't to difficult. I've never been kicked out of a party because i'm a taru, however the problem is in soloing. Soloing is extremely difficult in the teen levels for a taru, I once remember getting killed by and easy prey low defense monster. (it poisoned me and thats why I died, but still)

Yes I sub ninja. I think it's imperative for a taru ranger to sub ninja in PTs. (but only if they have blink ~_^).
From 1-23(ish) I solo'd, and then at 23-30 I PT'd and solo'd qufim worms (when I could get them -_- nigh on impossible now NA is out I'm sure). For soloing I used rng/whm.

The reason why I think a taru should sub ninja is, sometimes you'll generate enough hate for the monster to turn to you, now this is all well and good, but if this monster has a double attack or some kind of special, you're on the road to death due to your very low HP.
Subbing ninja (when you have blink) will save you from death many a time, and you usually won't even get hurt whilst hate is put back on the tank.

Personally I detest playing war. IF I had a lv 30 war - at this point I'd sub war - but only because I'm in a set PT and I know I wouldn't die. I could also really use taunt post-thf nerf.

BTW, I took whm upto lv30.
I originally started with another character (voodoo) a 26thf, but sick of never getting invites I created apocalypse, a taru whm, and never had that problem again ~_^ (until I switched jobs) - then at 30 I switched to ranger.

I'd have to agree with Vodoo. Although I am not terribly high yet, I am already coming into some small aggro problems. (mostly retarded tanks) Ninja sub was what I desired due to the low HP.. and I plan on getting Blink the moment I hit 24.

Although I'd rather be able to get a melee swing in between arrows..(for tp reasons)... Ive found myself lately hanging back with the mages. A strong shot early on is enough to pull aggro... add in a bomb toss or another special effect and your history heh.

Sometimes I will find myself with a WHM sub in groups for this very reason. To heal myself .. mostly because I don't trust low level groups to keep me from getting smacked down. Glad that im slowly getting away from that and this class is turning out to be great fun. 8)

I'm a lvl 25 taru ranger so far. Today, using my 2hr and 300% tp piercing arrow I did about 350 damage in 3 seconds on a crab in qufim ^^ Poor little thing didn't know what hit him.

Um, is that based against the hume war's base stats (like from the calculator)? If so, you're still waaaaay behind...and hume's are only average anyway.

There are several items in the game which increase your HP, not to mention foods as an example.
