Nameless, I played a white mage to level 30 and I can tell you that rangers need, by far, more money to survive than mages (at least white mages) do if they don't craft their own arrows.

...I said every job needs money. How about Dark Knights who need sniper rings? That will run then up about 500k. No job is cheap. I believe phalanx is going for 450k on Midgard. And I know RNG is really exspensive, just trying to say every job is :sweat: .

I play THF which is pretty cheap (there are still costs, +dex rings, spike necklace, spnding hours hunting LL :sweat: ). But there are still costs.

Of course there is a cost for every class. It's just RNG and NIN cost more than others. I should say way more.

Very nice and useful list of the recipes, but does anyone know what level of skill in woodworking is needed to make each type of arrow? Like Wooden arrow = 0 skill, Fire arrow = 40 skill, ect?

Anyone have the recipe for beetle arrowheads?

i think rng is more cost right off the bat kinda thing like a 1k for 99 bone arrows at 5 or whatever gets costly going through 5-10 stacks a day or more

but for whm like phanlax is 450k at high lvl so in the end it might come close to evening out.

on Pandy the bone arrows were 400 gil for 99....they were but i dunno how much now, all i know is ill be crafting my arrows from now until i cant becuase of the skill gaps...

Alright! I got level 23 woodworker! I'm level 9 red mage and level 16 white mage. Yeah, I like crafting. I can make silver arrows pretty well, now. Silver arrowheads aren't bad, actually. This does bring one thing up, though. Iron arrowheads cost way more than silver. Does anybody know why this is so? Silver arrows are much better than iron.

Horn Arrows

Does anyone know the skill level needed to make horn arrows? The recipe is listed on this thread but i couldnt find the woodworking skill level needed.

Moreover, how to make the arrowheads for horn? I can't seem to find 'em anywhere. Please, shelf the common arrogant answer of "then you must not have looked hard enough n00b" because I've searched all the common sites (here, Allakhazam, KoolAid, etc.) in addition to some Googling.

My guild NPC told me to make beetle arrows at level 29. I made some at level 29 and 30 and did not fail. It barely even raised my skill, which I was surprised at since silver arrows raised my skill so much. True, it was light day, but I'm just making the mention that you don't need to be level 35. As far as the arrowheads go, I don't know how to make them. If you can't find the recipe, try looking at the price history to see who sells them and give them a /tell and just ask.

Thanks Thylteev, I'll probably do that. I don't have any friends who have moderate/high bonecrafting skills (which I assume is what you need for beetle/horn arrowheads) so I can't ask them to see what the NPCs tell them for recipes. This is a workable alternative.
