Rangers and NMs

OK, I've heard Rangers is a bad choice to fight NMs, but was wondering why really? Ok, I can see since the NMs have lots of HP it can get expensive with arrows/bullets, but what other reason(s) is there?

There was also something said about missing often due to the high levels that NM have. I don't know much about it either though, we just have to wait for some high level rangers to post a reply

i'm GUESSING that the notorious monsters can't be hit because of their Agility stat (ranged is innacurate as it is, without some super evasive NM mucking it up)

I heard that they can't be hit period. That's the way square made them. I think it's only the harder ones though.

I guess only magic users can hit em then? The melee are there just to tank for the mages?

Rangers are fine against regular Notorious Monsters. What you've been reading is that Rangers are terrible against HNM, Hyper Notorious Monsters. These are the most powerful enemies in the game, and are generally in the mid 80s or 90s in terms of level. The reason that rangers are so terrible against them, is because accuracy is largely influenced by level. Since the highest level ranger would still be far below the HNM in level, they would be far, far less accurate, and rangers already have problems with accuracy.
