I was just wondering why it is that a warrior sub job is so much better than a thief sub job. I mean...you get sneak attack and trick attack for when you fight up close with daggers...and the steal and gil abilities...im just wondering why 4 added str bonuses maked THAT big a difference. Please someone help me with my problem!

Sneak/Trick attacks are VERY weak (since sub THF doesn't get any of the bonus damage multipliers, only the basic dmg enhancement; for me, a regular cyclone or gust slash does more dmg than a yokodama'd viper bite) and pale in usefulness when compared to things like Berserk and passives like Double Attack and the ATK/DEF bonuses. Steal and Flee are still extremely good in some circumstances, in fact, I've used /THF on a number of occasions while RNG leveling...
They're both pretty good in their own respects, but if you want those 1500+ dmg Sidewinders (at least in my experience) you need to have the WAR might...

hmm i dont know the way i see myself as a ranger is not entirely in the aspect of 1500+ dmg sidewinders. i think thief would compliment the ranger more than warrior. sure warrior gives a bit more hp and str. but thief gives more dex. and agi.. its all taste i guess. i like the thief abilities more than the warrior. i think that running real fast and stealing and all that look cooler with a ranger that can also do a bunch of moves similar to those.
just my opinion

/sigh Dexterity adds nothing to ranger skill. Also, the purpose of sneak attack is to give higher than normal damage by using it. However, the damage would be horrible, thus it would be without purpose. Regarding trick attack, I'm not even sure if the damage would be enough to transfer hate on a small degree.
