Ranger weapon decision, help?

Ok so ive gotten to lvl 30 with my monk. But I decided I wanted to at least try out an advanced job. Ranger it is!

So I read up and decided I will want to use guns at a later level when I can afford it. I figure ill use crossbow to raise marksmanship up as I level. Well it turns out this wasnt such a good idea because bolts require 11 woodworking to craft, which I dont have. So ive been leveling in Bastok and buying bolts from the weapon vendor but its getting expensive.

So on to my question. Should I just use bow until later levels then switch to xbow, then gun? From what ive seen so far raising ranged skills is not exactly easy. Would the transition from bow to xbow/gun be as hard as I think it would be or am I overreacting?

Any info would be much appreciated!

I would use a bow. It's much easier to make arrows and you can use it as long as you want without it getting outdated.

Already tried this..it will cost you double to raise two guns at the same time.

If money is a real concern, stick with bow. You can always raise the crossbow/gun skill later by joining skill up trips.

The goal should be to catch up the skill level when you're lv50. (That is when gun is useful in parties. Before that, it's not a necessity at all).

So, does someone of you have any gun info , damage, speed and other stuff.

I will be using bows, guns aren;t that col as bows in my eyes.

And another question, how do you get new ws.

I don't have the game yet, but my goal ist to bevome a ranger with sam as sub. (please do not start talking about what subjop you should use and so, it hase been on the other threads a billion time).

To get a weapon skill you just need to get your weapons level to 10+. Right now as a WAR I have 12 skill in my Ranged since I pull with a bow, so I have learned the first WS Flaming Arrow. But since ONLY Rangers can use Ranged weapon skills, I have to wait untill I get ranger to use it.

How do you level up your weapon level, by using it you will say.
But I am still wondering how many times do you need to use it to go a level higher. So Xeross, how long did it actually take you to get level 10 with bow?
