Marksmanship Stat-Question

I'm a newbie, so, pardon if this isn't the correct place to post this.

But since rangers = ranged weaponry, thought it made sense.

Simple question: I know Archery relies on Dexterity, right? Does that mean Marksmanship and Throwing also are heavily affected by Dexterity?

I was thinking that, maybe, Marksmanship had more to do with STR, seeing as how Xbows are only melee-class-useable, really...

Archery and marksmanship (as well as throwing) use agility, not dexterity, for determining accuracy.

Dex only increases the chances of a critical hit and critical hit damage. Str equals ranged attack power and agi equals accuracy. So dex really isn't that important.

One minor correction : Str only affects bow damage, not gun.

Sorry didn't know that since I've never used a gun. It makes since though since you have to have strength to use a bow.

What else does STR increase besides bow dmg, cause you can get items that increrase ranged attack. Which would be better to get a item that increases ranged attack or STR?

I would say from what i have read that you want ranged attack over a bit of strength. Takes 2 strength to equal one attack. and ranged accuracy over agility as well.
