Bow Skill transfers? (Switching job)

I'm level 9 with my RNG job now and it's level 24 ..if I switch to say my Thief that bow skill wont carry over will it?

your skill = 24?
sure your thf will also have bow skill at 24 too. (if your THF skill cap is lower, it will be adjusted to fit the cap. that's all)

Oh, so when I switch back to my Thief from my ranger and say (Example) it's skill level was 54 my Thief's skill would become 54 then? I just thought it would be usefull other than just for my ranger . I think my THF's now is around 20..I just would like to use it for some occasions..
