Nope, afaik you can only have one "pet" out at one time. I know this applies to SMN's, DRG's, and BST's, don't see why it wouldn't apply to PUP's as well.

You can have your NPC Fellow and a Pet out, though. ^^ Just not 2 pets...but it would be cool if Carby and my Wyvern could play together.

Even if you could have two pets out. The 'Call' function for both DRG and PUP is main job specific anyway.

such an easy quest too.....I was so lazy that I just let some level 30's kill the kraken, so I could get the flowers.
