I had an interesting idea for making the most of Reprisal today: Sub SCH and use Celerity to cut the recast time in half. (Actually, that will make the recast timer *shorter* than your Stratagem charge regain time, so you won't be able to Celerity every single cast, but you could go from 1/3 coverage to over 1/2, pushing 2/3.)

You also get a hugely increased MP supply from Sublimation on top of your native auto-refresh, Sigil/Sanction and any refresh gear you have.

You also get a lot of TP with Reprisal up, which feeds nicely into the now potentially 10 minute Chivalry.

Hate generation might be shot to hell with no provoke and no provoke-replacement, though. So it wouldn't be a good idea in fights where you need hate to stay locked on you or someone dies. But for soloing, Campaign, or situations where an occasional hate bounce isn't so bad, it could be pretty sweet.

Can't deny PLD has basically been sucking S-E dry.

...and.... sure, Utsu is broken. Shadows and dual wield does not make a job. That is all subbable. I want a fucking JA that doesn't make me commit suicide or is meritable. Something to enhance us as DD's, ANYTHING. Anyway.

NIN tanking up to meripo levels, actually requires good weapons, and a dedication to the job by paying for tools. A gimpy NIN won't keep hate at all.

PLD, on the other hand?

Voke every 30 seconds, derp.
Flash every 45, derp.
Shield Bash or Sentinel every few, derp.
Rampart, derp.
Reprisal, "O hay! Now I take even less damage!"

It's a damn good thing NIN is a better choice than PLD for meripo.

And what about those Warriors? Man, you put a weapon in their hands, and they are going to do damage with it. How weak is that?

Don't even get me started on Puppetmaster. They can get no invites regardless of the skill level of the player. How messed up is that?

Y'know what Raitox, I'll give you all of that. Ninja is a lot easier to suck at than pld. Your damage mitigation method takes a lot more attention, some people just don't know how to do it at all, and it costs a lot more any way you cut it. But despite all that, coming on to a thead in the pld forum and making a spam, insulting post about how they're playing a job "for three year olds" is just douchebaggery.

Same could be said for black mages. I'd say Red Mage, Thief, Ninja, and Bard are the only jobs that require actual intensive thinking in this game.

EDIT: Taskmage, I'm not trying to rag on my job, no matter how ambiguous my argument, but Ninja has not gotten anything since the game has started. I'm not counting patches on things that already existed. Monomi should've been in the game in the first place. But. No Job abilities. Sange is useless, San wheel is less DoT than Ni wheel and expertise.... I guess that's nice.
