If DEF/VIT were fixed, perhaps pieces of the Martial Abjuration (minus the head, the only truely good piece due to Shield Skill/HP) would be a lot more desirable. Right now they're just for looking pretty (and messing about).

Got Askar Zuchetto last night. :D
Got Iron Ram Sallet a couple of weeks ago.

I'm still debating when to use W. Turban vs Askar. My biggest issues as a Hume PLD who is mosty plays on BLM and RDM are no hp merits and no enmity merits. So IR Sallet is very desirable a lot of the time having both hp and a good chunk of enmity. On the other hand, /NIN tanking needs haste for recast timers... yet I'm still hp-defficient which makes me want to use W Turban more than Askar for /NIN.

If you're going for melee TP use Askar, if PLD/NIN tanking use Turban. The 30 HP/MP are not to be overlooked aside from the 1% Haste. Swap in Iron Ram Sallet for JAs and your 'oh shit shadows are down' set if you don't have M.Head.
