So here's an interesting piece of interest.

Well not really. But I thought it was.

    Colibris suck. Big huge ones.

When I first showed up to the PT (Just dinged 53) I had to go FULL TURTLE and Earth Staff. Yes. I was Turtle To The Max.

But we were killing them FAST. (The COR was spamming Slugshot, and the Sam had a Polearm and was spamming Penta and the Other Sam was spamming whatever he felt like spamming and somewhere in the middle there was always Transfixtion and the SMN was MBing Meteorite). I usually static with the same 4 people and they just invite me and a healer, and they apparently talk on Ventrino (Ventrillo?? w/e..) so maybe they set it up like that.

Colibris are an interesting mob because tanking them is a nightmare. TP Down and Food eatting, means that they're NO Fun for NINs.

And I didn't have anyone in the pt to Slow or Paralyze so yeah, self-curing was a blast and a half.

Yet. I was getting 7k/hr in this pt, LoL...

Needless to say, sometimes I miss Crabs, but once I leveled to 54, I just decided to Sword and Shield it, and rely on the fact that fights were quick, because I DEFINITELY wasn't tanking those sumbotches at 52 when my first pt yesterday wanted to.. >_>

So what else can I expect in terms of whackness of mobs?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind Crabs until the 60s (I MISS Cape Terrigan, believe it or not, lol.. HL Valkurm..), but with ToAU so Accesible and the exp bonus and the fast repopping, it's unlikely.

Does anyone still go to Bibiki Bay?

Aye, I was in the first batch to tank colbiri when toau was released my ninja was of level, God I hated tanking them on nin. Almost impossible to keep hate so I just set up for dd and tanked alongside the war keeping hate off drg and rng. Pld wise I am coming very close to these now, So not looking forward to it tho I have tanked them on nin and war. I would you can chose 2 paths the more dd path you are going to lose hate to good dd's or you can go the emnity route and attempt to tank. Well debuffing the mobs if they don't last long is a waste of mp, even tho it is wise to enfeeble lesser colbiri with a pld tank, colbiri or greaters you don't enfeeb due to reflect.

A bit off topic best colbiri burn on those mobs was 19k/hr, nin warx2 thf rdm brd/nin. Best with a pld was about 15k/hr rdm brd pld rngx3, arrow burns are so effective with a pld on colbiri.

Crawlers was one of the first thru those camps as well, they suck ass. I usually try to head to bibiki bay when I can. If you can grab 3 rangers a cor or brd and a rdm with your pld, exp will fly in bibiki bay due to it being wide open.

So far everytime when I was asked to goto Bibiki Bay to fight Cantos or goblins or goto Bodaya Tree it just sucked REALLY bad.

As far as those crawlers that blast fire, just start casting Cure 4 on yourself when you see it ready Incinierate if the crawler is close to full heath, 70-90%.

Oh and Imps are a BLAST! No not really. I hate them personally on PLD. All I can say is Flash and Cure is the most accesible hate tools you'll have with the JAs being used in the beginning and middle/near the end of the fight. Pray to god you get mages that silena and bring 1-2 stack for emergency situations.

I'm hoping that if/when I get my PLD high enough to worry about imps, that an expansion will make sure I never have to look at Imps again.

Unless Imps find some DEF and HP a hope and a dream is all you'll ever have.

                Re: Mobs

Colibris aren't hard to tank on PLD, and RDMs are less shy about enfeebling Lesser Colibris. (I think they can actually enfeeb non-Lesser ones if they erase/-na the PLD right after, but whatever.) The only real trouble is that you're just short of enough high enmity JA's before Rampart, and can't make it up with 300TP Spirits Within, so one out of three battle you may find holding on to them a bit more tedious.

They have attack delay of 200, so you'll have to time your Cure III's very carefully, or just stick to Cure II's. Racial evasion trait of +20 means as much accuracy gear as possible. They *may* have some sort of accuracy bonus trait, too; I noticed a large drop in evasion moving from Magmatic Eruca to Colibri, so don't bank on Flash.

Dish out your 100TP as soon as you have it, because you are unlikely to keep it for long. =b

Well this is my first post on this site, so here we go ^ ^

Ill take the birdy's any day of the week over crawlers. I went full emity with a balance of def, vit and attack gear. Like a poster above stated, you will loose hate every 3rd or so battle do to your ja being down, so just throw in an extra cure 3 to keep things steady. Emity is the key tho, so try and find as much emity gear as you can.

                    Re: Mobs

At first I thought Colibri were more accurate as well, but I just chalked it up to them eating someone else's sushi without me noticing.

I absolutely hate the little fuckers. Particularly the non-Lesser ones. The lesser ones were relatively easy for me to tank but I went /RDM through all of that level range so I can't comment on how it would go for /WAR.

What really sucks is Eruca parties without proper support. Losing 90% of your HP at the beginning of the fight, every other fight, is really fun.

Magmatic Eruca isn't hard to tank on PLD, either; just need a WHM who knows how to keep up Barfira and when to use Cure V. Regen II, too. Other than Incinerate, it's just another Crawler.

Nival Raptor (Uleguerand Range), Diatryma (Misareaux Coast), Cockatrice (Onzozo)... Now, those were more challenging. Even Antica (Quicksand Cave), Aydeewa Diremite (Aydeewa Subterrane), and Bark Spider (Boyahda Tree) were harder, I think.

Well, I really hate Antica... Maybe it's just a personal bias, and other people find them OK to tank.
