With merits parties, burn paries, the new expansions and all the events, does it worth lvling Paladin or people will always prefer another job than my paladin, like nin?
I personally will take either. Ninjas are great if you don't have a WHM in your party, but really as long as we have someone to take those hard hits so we can kill the mob and live to tell about it, I have no real preference between the two.
It would be better to ask yourself what do you want, if you want a popular job that gets invited to every event or if you want a job you enjoy regardless of that.
If you enjoy playing PLD then just go for it, PLD's "issues" start at lvl 60+ and by that time you'll know if it's worth it for you or not.
Also, for many events PLD is preferred as a tank so it really isn't about PLDs not getting invited, if you are a good PLD you'll always get invites from people who has partied with you even if there are NINs looking.
(Heck, I get invited to events and parties without even having my flag up while I'm soloing/leveling NPC as PLD/RDM in Quicksand Caves so it can't be that bad).

There was recently a new "burn" type of camp added that PLD seemed to do rather well in - it was the Thickets camp off of Nyzul Isle staging point. There's a bit of link potential there with the colibri and when the do link, they'll pretty much beat a NIN senseless if you can't sleep it. I the three PTs I had there this week, PLD fared the best of 'em.
And thats saying quite a bit since I'm a rather relentless puller.
People will make it sound like PLDs aren't needed on forums, but the truth is any tank is always needed and invited. Its also just that certain classes :coughcorsairandbardcough: (excuse me) seem to be unwilling to EXP with PLD due to bad past experiences.
There are just some PLDs who think that every mob is a cone AoE mob. which doesn't exactly help, but a really good PLD will adapt to a setup, as any good player would in any job.
So don't sweat it, if you want to be a PLD, then BE a PLD. Don't let some forum popularity contest stop you.
Without knowing the OP's current level, it's hard to make any real suggestions. If she (or he) is near endgame already, then obviously merit parties are something to worry about. But if she (or he) is just getting started, then it's really the least of their worries at the moment.

I was just responding to the first thing listed. ^_^; AFAIK, merit parties tend to want BRD/NIN, RDM/WHM, and WAR/NIN. WHM, also, for JP merit parties.
As a PLD53, I'm not really concerned about meriting--my LS is friendly enough that I don't think it'll be a problem. (It's also a little odd--we had a XP/Merit Alliance in Rivern not long ago... )

I wasn't saying that the advice people were giving was off-base. But I see a lot of folks ask questions about merit parties and other endgame activities when they are no where near that point.
Honestly, even a PLD can get merit parties. Worst case scenario they form a merit static with friends. But it rarely has to come to that.

Kind of OT: To be fair, between both WHM and RDM, the PTs I'm in as WHM tend to be faster exp(or limits)/hour. Of course regardless, I usually end up being the only mage and my WHM gets Auto Refresh from /smn, noble tunic, and sanction, and I can manage MP better. Not to say my RDM parties are worse off, but I generally have a harder time managing MP due to no Regen III, and Cure V (these two, help a LOT, and convert can't make up for it).
Not to say I haven't had good PTs as RDM, WHM just tends to be better off for me.

If the party needs/wants a tank, then the party will invite a tank. Both PLD and NIN are tanks.
