Re: Have I mentioned lately how much I love this job?

if you're ever in a situation where WHM stops doing X action for you because of Y event, I'd advise you leave or kick WHM. no exp at all is better than putting up with a control-freak mage.
Yeah that's what I would normally do, but my friend was only 2k from leveling by that time and he planned to leave once he leveled (he really dislikes warrior but loves samurai), so I thought I'd just stick it out.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

Funny story about my Paladin experience the other night. A War/Nin was in my party the other night and while we are fighting he starts sending me tells. The first one says that I am doing a good job. The next one he tells me that most of the other Paladins he plays with suck. Then he starts saying in the party chat that I'm awesome. He actually thought I had merits because he couldn't take hate away from me. He says that is a usual part of what he does in a party but not with me. The truth is I have no merits and I was just doing what I normally do. Well anyway, the War starts hitting on me because I am doing such a good job, but I think it was a guy . Anyway, yes I do love this job too. It 's so nice to feel like a brick wall.
You kill one man, your a murderer
Kill many and your a conquerer
Kill them all... your a God.

Honestly, I would have. But then I'd be potentially screwing 4 other people out of exp. Getting back at one person and taking out 4 others in the process does not equal "acceptable casualties" for me. Maybe I'm just too nice and don't complain enough, who knows. That entire party was a major disappointment for me, and it makes me really miss my static. I've been spoiled.

It proved that I can pretty much stand on my own when tanking, that at the very least is a good thing. Having been in a static PT for so long, I was thinking I had gotten rusty, since I'm used to being with the same people all the time. Went from 24 to 60 with the same 5 people, and pretty much expected this mage to do her job right, like my static WHM did. It was quite a shock to see just how poorly someone can play and then purposely play even worse because of an insignificant event.

In any exp party, NIN is always a tank and PLD is a DD/Sub-tank. If you want to be a solo main tank, do not invite NINs. However, in any HNM party, PLD is always a tank.

well my good sir, i'd say you're a bit backwards. Before 37, nin is a co-tank/DD, while pld is most likely always the tank (cuz the nin's ive met are lvlin it for sub, and wanna save some money).
          back, after... 3 months?
          cuz WoW just totally sucks

And you, wich Final Fantasy character do you resemble?

Unless the NIN is serious about his job but pre-37, you rarely ever see those kinds of NIN. I think it was every 1 out of 10 NINs I've ever partied with that would gear themselves up with good defense in case the crap hit the fan. Those NINs that did were also the great rare NIN that could solo tank without a voke partner... And I do mean rare.

I discovered one thing, taking NIN up with just ... other NINs. Evasion means absolute crap. Sure, 10% evasion is better than nothing, but to spend millions of gil on gear to discover that is a complete and utter waste of finance and time.

But that's for the NIN forum.

Paladin can fill a duo tanking role with a Ninja at the early levels. If you have a problem with duo tanking just let the leader know and find a party you can solo tank. I personally would take the party and try to get through the dunes as fast as I can

Working together with the members of your party no matter what jobs they are, having fun, and getting experience points > always having to get the "optimal" jobs for the "uberestest" party.
I always had the pleasure of being invited for the "Duo Tanking" parties at those levels. I ran into a slight problem with every one of them:

NIN >> First Voke >> Shadows go Down.
PLD >> Vokes and pulls hate >> Cure, Shield Bash, Etc.
NIN >> Voke, doesn't pull hate.
PLD >> No Voke, Keeps Curing.
NIN >> Vokes again, doesn't pull hate.

NINs were never too pleased with me.
"Oh, you ca'n't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're Mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be", said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Welcome to Alice in FFXI =P
