The ever elusive Parade Cuirass!

So, I hit 53 last night and decided to run my shiny metal ass over to Bastok and spit my game at Brygid, for some hot level 50 gear. After a hop, skip and a jump over to the Aquaducts, and then a rather slow happy adventure fun time camp with some LS Mates, I was back to Bastok. When I was walking onto the airship back to Jeuno, I was a proud owner of a Parade Cuirass.

I soon get a PT invite and wander over to wherever it was, I can't quite remember, I blame the booze. But anyway, I get there and our WHM /checks me, and I get the bad news first hand.

WHM > "That body piece sucks."
Me > "Urk...wha...?"
WHM > "You need to focus on VIT +, not HP+! LOL!"
Me > "But...the emnity bonus is pretty fancy..."
WHM > "noob."
Me > "..."

That was the end of the conversation, and the party proceeded on, and there were no snags or anything...just a kind of ackward situation.

So, here's my thing, I never see the Brygid gear for 50's, ever. Never seen a single peice on Pheonix, maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but it seems to be some of the best armor around that level, does anyone know about it? And if they do, is the quest seem unimportant enough not to bother with it?

I guess a lot of people also like this guy. Looks the same as Brig from the back, much sexier on the front side.

+1 VIT and +2 def will go completely unnoticed. Guaranteed. +2 Enmity means a lot more, though PLD don't really need much enmity either.

At any rate, WHM's a jerk. I woulda been outspoken and either got whm or myself kicked out of the party. But you got 4 other people precious exp. Good fella. Just remember that if you have armor on that's less than 10 levels old, you're probably doing ok. Doesn't matter what the hell it is.

I had the Earth Doublet, http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/1016, switched to the Brigandine and then moved on to an I.M. Cuirass, and then laid my grubby hands on the Parade, which I think is way shexay.

If you can spare the cash you can be elite and switch them in and out depending on what you need at that moment.

I was very happy when I got my Parade Curiass, at about ...... Lv.58.

I never used the Gaia Doublet, and I sold my I.M.Curiass. When I'm in 50Cap areas/battlefields, I use my Parade, +VIT rings, a High Breath Mantle, Warrior's Belt +1, and Happy Egg for equip, and chew down some +VIT food.

One of the things i noticed was that the +2 Enimity is the same as the AF Body, meaning that for the trade of 2.5DEF(assuming 2VIT=1DEF) off IM, you get +2Enimty and some HP, which imo makes this piece THE best pieces of PLD gear you can get for lvl 50, and i plan to get it too someday and then switch it for AF.

If it not for the overwhelming DEF difference between Parade and AF Body, i would stick with Parade with a bigger HP Bonus.

Reminds me of the RDM that thought it was stupid for me to switch to my BLM AF in my Cure 3 macro. "The +MND on your RSE would make the cures so much better."

I'm already pulling enough hate with my nukes, I'll take all the -enmity I can get.

Parade Cuirass was my body piece of choice from 50 to 60 (got replaced with AF body, since it has the same +2 enmity, more defense, has VIT, and matches the rest of the set.) The cuirass was a total bitch to get (for me, at least; like with many other things, you may just get lucky,) but it was so worth it. It was especially useful in my PLD/RDM endeavors. You don't NEED it, but it's definetely a good piece of equipment to have. And yes, that WHM was being an ass.

EDIT: Oh, and the reason you don't see Lv.50 RSE is because they're a pain in the ass to get (requires at least Phomiuna access and an alliance, many of which are pick-up parties) and some of them just aren't that good as EXP gear (like wyvern mail.)

I have my Rap harness for thf and could have gotten a P Curiass for my war but didn't really like it, not even for looks. I know I'll be going back to get the Nin body, and maybe the Sam/Drk ones when I get high enough with them.

Anyway, as stated before, the main reason so few people have these pieces of armor is because so few mid lvl people have the resources to get past the promys, let alone actually farm the subs. The only reason I had the opportunity is because I made it, I repeatedly do Promy missions for any LS member who needs it and have no problems repeating anything for anyone. And when people want items, I set up a date and we go get it. Very few 'mid lvl' social shells have the capability to do that kind of stuff and thus you see very few of those great armors.

Defenately a great piece! Enmity at that level is just great sex! Such a shame I got it after I was level 60 -- will be good for level 50 capped stuff though. *holds it very tight*

I honestly enjoy the P. Cuirass, it's relatively stain-free and smells of wild flowers, also note, that the flower smell drives mobs WILD!

Wait..what was I talking about? Oh yeah, I got some feedback while running around in my Parade Cuirass from people around Pheonix, the consensus is that "That shit is fly mutha-fucka!" and that WHM in question is "A Dayum foo', fo' sho'."

Anyway, I found the quest to be kind of exhausting, I never thought Formors would go down with such a fight and the bastards link way too much. Soon, I'll be hunting down an Voyager Sallet, http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=8947, for my farming adventures and BCNMs.

So yeah...it's gonna be a grand ol' time for me.
