Re: Discourteous Treatment of PLD Tank

Just plain rude. Everyone already covered everything. It's nothing to do with (Job A) vs. (Job B) in this instance. It's more etiquette and frankly, everyone should /blist that a**hole.

I don’t know what’s been happening in the party scene lately but this kind of action seems common place, over the last few months I’ve seen ppl kicked from parties with no regard their feelings or other party members.

By the sounds of it the leader mt’d the message about kicking you for a NIN, this is all too common to, I’ve seen main healers kicked for going AFK once or twice while healing after a chain and even a BRD being kicked for pulling a link, a BRD for crying out loud!

I have no faith in random XP parties and don’t seek them anymore, after seeing this kind of crap I made a static party with LS friends and only party at weekends, freeing weekdays/nights (if not working) to make gil or solo as BLU, DRG and BST.

Screw random parties and ass-hole leaders.

Feelings are nice, but performance is at least least as important. If anything, at lower levels (where I live. -_- ), leaders tend not to kick out bad members promptly enough, if at all.

Now, if OP's party was working (chain#4 frequently), and people aren't ready to kill each other, then it was wrong. If the PLD in question was bad, and the leader has replacement for him, by all means: KICK. Just because OP is in the same LS, doesn't mean the PLD was good (or bad).

Yes, there are bad PLD's--I had a horribly under-geared, major MP-sponge of a Paladin who gave my static group "g2g" the second he got his Lv.40. I don't mean a few battles after--I mean as soon as the mob dies and we finished saying "congradulations", he logged off and left the party.

(No, I'm not bashing on PLD's in general--PLD43 here, and loving it. 6/6 static party with BRD and, soon, RDM. Whee!)

I'm not willing to jump to a conclusion about that particular party leader based on an one-sided report, and my experiences tells me usually party leader more often let a problem player stay in the party than let them go.

        Disclamer:
Ok, I had the misfortune of inviting quite a few lousy tanks and random DD's while partying on my RDM (4/6 static party), so my opinions may be skewed--however, if you're tanking and I'm getting clobbered in the back every battle, you can bet gils that I'm searching for your replacement.

        From now on. >_>;

It seems that was quite rude, it doesn't matter what job switches with another or who replaces whom, that was rude, not really a chance for the PLD to state his case or anything. I've been a jerk before and I learned my lesson rather quickly that it doesn't pay off, I'm now a nice player who does nice things for nice people. But honestly, if I was going to be kicked from a party just because someone's friend logged on, I would MPK...honestly.

Re: Discourteous Treatment of PLD Tank

I was in Kazham last night got a party invite, went to party looked around and found no mages or even anyone with whm subbed.

            I asked any mages seeking?

The answer no why, your main healer.

Considering there was no suitable tank (1 war with crap gear, 2 monks, 1 sam and a blm with smn subbed (obviously didn't want to heal)) I pointed out my MP (56 at lvl 26) and that its only 2x cure II and 1x Cure 1. I said war has too low gear to tank so i will. Got a load of abuse stating noob etc and that I was only invited to heal.

I disbanded only to find the party shouting abuse on the shout to all in the jungle "do not invite PLD Brickshouse, he is a noob and wont do his job"

They have been blisted. But come on a Galka Pld main heal at this low level when fighting IT+'s?

we seem to be getting alot of bad treatment these days. I have been rejected from a party because they said nin has just come on line and is a better tank (even though i have got good gear for my level good def and vit food and equipment) I said what hapens when shadows are taken by the mandys (as they double attack) same old treatment, shut up noob etc.

why is there so many people like this these days, i am getting really p**s*d off they don't know the jobs and what everyone does, they can't skill chain I tell them you tachi enpi i will fast blade, they tachi enpi the another does a weapon skill straight away that breaks the skill chain, no one can magic burst and the attitude is so childish. WHAT IS GOING ON?

Re: Discourteous Treatment of PLD Tank

Retarded people is the problem. I'm afraid to level a new job up because of them. Back in the day, if anyone acted like that they'd never see another party invite again. Now everyone is PLed by their high level friends and they don't give enough of a damn to try and enjoy the game even with what they may consider less than optimal PT setups. I always have the most fun when my friends and I go and do something that's supposed to be 'suicide' without a certain PT setup, or without x number of 75s. Some people can roll with it, others just freak out and fake d/c. Fuck em. If people think they can treat you like dirt and get away with it, let them think that way and get them back when you can. Two wrongs may not make a right, but giving people what they deserve once in awhile never hurt.
