New PLD job ability/trait merits

Alright The names of the new MP skills are out, letsw start the speculation as to what these might do. I'm away from my desktop for about 2 weeks right now so i can't wait to see what everyone's experiences are with them. Wish I could be there to test them out on Day 1 ><!

The name are

Ability - Fealty
Ability - Chivalry
Job trait - Iron Will
Job trait - Guardian

Kinda hard to Decipher by the names alone, really kind of ambigous.

My only guess is that Iron Will increases magic resistance and Guardian physical resistance? 0.o

(I wonder when Enrage will be implemented, and at what level we'll get it, seeing as how it is not a merit ability)

I guessed that it would lower spell interrupt rates, since lately I've been seeing a lot of PLDs having problems with interrupt.

Me too, but there are so many aspects to Chivalry I couldn't begin to guess.

Fealty - Faithfullness (Not much you can guess from definition alone on what it does >.> )

For chivalry I don't know, the qualities of chivalry is so wide ranged it's hard to say. LOL, wonder if they'll include the "gallantry toward women" part as a bonus effect to it. Lol, protect a woman and defense increases or something.

My first thought when I saw Fealty was a "Killer" Trait. To basically intimidate the mob, build more Hate and not take damage. But I could be way off on that one, it was just the first thing that came to mind when I read that.

If it wasn't implemented now, I doubt it ever will be. Honestly I don't think PLD needs more long-recast hate spikes, and they definetely won't give us something equivalent to Provoke (high hate, short recast) as that'd be the dawn of PLD/NIN being the new standard for most/all situations.

It'd be cool if Iron Will were random one-shotting protection (like, 10% chance you'll be left with 1 HP instead of dying as long as you had more than 1 HP when struck.) Guardian sounds like it might enhance Cover (more duration, I'd guess.) Chivalry and Fealty....your guess is as good as mine.

Why only married females? A "Damesel" is an unmarried maid.



On a side note, my first thought on Fealty was extended Signet time.

But that makes as much sense as giving WHMs a scythe skill.

In Chivalry, historically, a knight could only court a married lady.

Iron Will: Spell Interruption rate down added to the effect of Rampart.

Guardian: Reduces enmity loss when using Sentinel.

Fealty: Grants powerful resistance to enfeebling magic.

Chivalry: Convert TP to MP.
