Where would you be getting hit with Hundred Fists other than a handful of weaker NM battles, Dynamis, or PvP anyway? In the case of NMs and Dynamis, your big danger is dying to damage - spellcasting is the last of your worries usually (and Flash can usually slide underneath even Hundred Fists).

In PvP versus Monks, your big danger is Formless Strikes. Used to be, you could Invincible to counter Hundred Fists. Now, Formless Strikes neutralizes Invincible as if it weren't there.

Byakko! lol . No was just added as an extreme example .
Mainly just saying that it would be decent to have an ability that would virtually gaurantee a spellcast no matter what you may be being hit with.

That ability exists. It's called "Stun". Ask your friendly neighborhood Dark Knight or Black Mage to lend you a hand when the going gets tough. I just find it hard to imagine that having a slightly better chance of casting spells is worth the investment in merit points for a Paladin.

Re: New PLD job ability/trait merits

I have confirmed 100% that Fealty blocks Blind, Paralyze, Flash, Bind, Slow, Gravity, and Silence. I'm 100% sure that Dia, Bio, and Amnesia are not blocked. I think Stun is blocked, but I'm not 100% sure. I was hit by Condemnation, but I died on the regular attack right after it. I didn't see a stun effect, but I could have just died too soon for it to show up.

I'm unsure of effects like Sleep, Bard songs, Defense Down, Attack Down, Accuracy Down, Evasion Down, Poison, Plague, and Terror. I think all of them can be blocked, since they do not do any initial DoT.

        I need more testing.

          Question:

Do all the Merit traits and abilities for PLD only apply to lvl 75?

It would be nice if you could using those abilities in lvl capped battles, but I doubt that's the case.

I have not tried to see if they're usable in level capped zones, yet. If I remember to, I'll try in Promy.

Re: New PLD job ability/trait merits

Well, the new abilities do not work in level capped zones. There is some good news though. Fealty blocks charm. Proof is that I didn't get charmed when the Dyn-Valkurm Mega Boss used charmga, and I didn't get charmed. So glad I had invincible up too. I helped a few mages get skill ups XD

Re: New PLD job ability/trait merits

I have recently opened Fealty, and I am very happy with the Job Ability (maybe not
so happy with the 20 minute recast but meh...).

My frist time to really see it in action was during a Uggalepih Pendant run. From
what I could tell, Fealty was pretty strong. I was resisting silence, paralyze, etc.
I wanted to see what happened if I used it against the Death Spell. Well, I stopped,
                used Fealty and..... Death happened

Anyways, I am really happy with that ability and can't wait to get some more merits
to open some of the others.
