PLD Parties

Mana Burn, war, bones, etc. Is there a PLD equivalent, where abouts do you do thiem, whats the party set up, what do you fight?

I remember back when I visited Alla I saw two threads like this, they were pretty much like the other burns

The major difference was with all the flashing hardly and damage was taken by anyone, the PTs were supposedly very smooth, but brought slightly less experience points per hour.

Yeah, an "optimal" DD PLD burn with mostly /nin subs could probably turn out average exp/hr, maybe a bit more since no damage taken.

And im guessinng you would be fighting undead in this kind of party due to the natrual undead killer trait we get^^. Also staffs work well against skellitons so thats a bonus too.

I'm going to try a Paladin burn in KRT. Just have to make sure the Paladins have Staff leveled. PLDx5 BRDx1. Setup:

PLD/WAR
PLD/WHM
PLD/THF?
PLD/DRK?
PLD/SAM?

Basically what I'm saying is we'll have 2 sub jobs that have jobs that can do a high damage ability. DRK = Most DD abilities and stun (Souleater?). THF = SATA. SAM = Meditate.

Hello, Im from alla as well we didn't really have too many options to burn parties. The most common was like, 4 PLD/NIN, BRD RDM or something. Or a DD/THF to replace RDM, and just set PLDs in a circle around the mob, DD/THF running around SA+TA everyone for extra DMG.

IMO, best burn you can get into fast is a KRT. Go /war or /whm. You'd take the place of a WHM, and be a tank all the while. Sorta. MNKx4, PLD BRD. Or MNKx3 PLD WHM BRD. You don't hold hate often, but you can hold it untill the WS's start firing off, by then the mob will die in the next 20 seconds anyway. With auto-refresh, I believe we can make excellent replacements for WHM now, just make sure the brd or rdm is /whm and keeps up with erase and blindna/paralyna and youll be able to go /war with no ill effect.

Oh, if you go KRT don't expect to get a party unless you have staff leveled up. Its a common misconception among PLDs who dont read forums, that staff is useless. Pop pamamas on a primate staff and it'll help you with hate a little easier, i think. Plus you can Fullswing/retribution/spirit taker as needed. =)

"Young" bones parties (65-72ish, IIRC) can sometimes use a Paladin to go with them, and the XP there shouldn't be too bad. After that though if you go down to KRT even with a perfect PLD Burn setup, you will probably get outhunted if there is a MNK party down there.

Of course, all this just comes from what I've read on the forums... don't mind me.
