Yes. Don't count on it though, it's a rare occurrence, and you won't get the shielding animation. You'll know if you take a lot less damage or get shield skill-up. Like I said, though, it's much rarer than shielding a normal hit.

You can parry physical WS too. It'll give the message that the WS missed though. I know this can happen because I've gotten several parry skill ups off WS.

Aye, I'm pretty sure I've gotten both a shield and a parry skillup from Goblin Rush.

It's pretty bizarre sometimes the way you see a skill up, seeing a Gob uses Goblin and suddenly see:

So and so's parrying skill rises .3 points.

Or if your dual wielding two different weapons, like, let's say sword and axe:

So and so uses Raging Axe.

So and so's axe skill rises .3 points
So and so's sword skill rises .2 points

Yes, the above has happened to me as well.

Another weird thing was yesterday doing Blade: Retsu (which is two hits) and getting this

Mateo's katana skill rises .2 points.
Mateo's katana skill rises .3 points.
Mateo's katana skill rises .2 points.

That was pretty bizarre to say the least.

You get the additional skillup chances because you're wielding an off-hand weapon, which gets a single hit (granting full TP) during a weaponskill.

I know that, it just makes me laugh though, your getting better with a weapon that your not visibly striking the mob with. The game physics are always funny to me.

Dual wield adds a hit to the WS. Rin when you first get it is a 1 hit WS, yet when you hit 10 and DW it becomes a 2 hit WS for example.
