Hate isn't the easiest thing to keep until flash and refresh. Then it gets real easy for a while, even without those enmity mantles. Although, I do think I'll grab one of those for my PLD, it beats the mantle I'm using anyway. Hate will likely be hard to keep again once you hit high levels...but you have a ways to go before you worry about that.

if the pary give me some chance at the beginning to cure myself I usually have no problem keeping hate ^^

In my last few PT, 90% of the fight I'm doing really fine with cure 2-3 and provoke alone. Only when Mnks use raging fist that I *sometimes* have to throw in some flash and other abilities.

Any big hate move before voke 2 in any party is likely to cause you a hard time. Best way is to speak to the BLU and get them to calm down, essentially all they're doing is burning healer MP and making the party less efficient though thte big number may be nice to look at.

I think all PLDs will have seen this some time, the BLM who drops the tier 3 nuke as the mob arrives at camp. The RNG who opens with barage and so on, try to educate those who play with you that its not helping the party. Be prepared though some asshats will retort with the STFU N00b h4t3 1z u pr0b n0t m1n3!!!!! orz

I'm so lucky in that I had a static party (well half of one PLD, RDM, THF) for almost all 65 levels of my PLD. I very rarely had to deal with people trying to test my limits hate wise. Not that it's always a bad thing (it's good to know how to get a situation like that back under control) but it can be frustrating.

Once you get Flash you'll find things become a lot easier hate-wise.

Pretty cheap. Only 15k on Titan. Enchantment last 30 minutes, as long as regular food so it's easy to keep track. After you use it tho you will have to wait about 10-15 seconds before you cast spells or use ability. The enchantment will be gone if you unequipt it by the way.

One thing to know on the High Breath Mantle - the Enchantment lasts 30 minutes, or until you take the Mantle off. Meaning you can't equip it, use the enchantment and then swap to a more useful piece of gear the way you can with an Empress Ring.

Also, Pld isn't a tank at 30?? Pfff. I was a tank from level 10. Yeah, Flash makes it easier to hold hate, but it's not the be all, end all. With a good party you can definitely hold hate the majority of the time at 30, or at any level. The key though is the "good party" angle. No matter what level you are there are jobs that if they want to commit suicide and steal all the hate in the world from you then they'll certainly be able to get their wish in a fight or two.

The problem a lot of classes seem to have is understanding that just because they can steal hate from the tank doesn't mean that they should. BLU is still pretty new and people are feeling it out. There are bound to be some issues with that for a while.

As long as you stick with your regular hate routine (Provokes, Cures, Shield Bashes, Flash when you get it, etc.) you should be fine. If someone wants to test you and constantly steal hate, let them a few times. Eventually they'll realize that it's just better if the mob beats on you instead of them constantly getting hit all the time. At least, if they have any sense they will.

haha from partying with BLUs recently I've learned that a lot of them don't seem to realize that. :p At any rate. I've been around a lot of BLU tanks too. They cna hold their own if they get hate, so it's not particularly worrying to them if they're getting hit. Like Icemage said, they're pretty hearty individuals.

Just wanted to update final got flash and holding hate is no longer a prob even with blues in party. That spell helps out a lot. Thanks again all for the info.
