    The PLD changes look interesting - and the battle system changes to shields obviously affect PLD a lot, too. Both the block rate and the amount blocked increased, according to the update.

    I'm a little surprised to see straight Auto-Refresh, but I guess it counters PLDs' inability to rest during combat the way mages can. I wonder what level we get it at... I'm already 75, but it could make a difference in level capped content. The TP is less exciting, unless it's a *lot*.


    I think DRK should get a JA that makes their next hit restore MP equal to damage done like Spirit Taker, or one that allows them to cast spells using their HP instead of MP (and possibly also the Magic Accuracy Bonus trait that's been suggested before on these forums).

    Make DRK more DRK-like, not more like other melees. There are plenty of "just another melee DD" jobs already, and if you *just* want to beat stuff up, you should change to one.

    I made a new post because I would like to hear the thoughts on the actual change and what not.

    I heard auto refresh is lvl 35.
    pld in my LS said the can't see any difference using shield stance

      Hmm... both of the high level PLD in my LS said that they noticed a much better block rate with their shields.

        I have noticed the following:

        1st) Auto Refresh is freakin awesome! Can you say RDM Refresh + PLD Auto Refresh = Uber REFRESH!

        2nd) My shield blocks almost 50% more of the time (atleast for me - then again my shield skill is capped) and ive noticed the TP gain for blocking actually does help a little. I can now usually get off a WS before the fight is over, where ask I never could before cause of resting.

          The increased shield rate is probably most evident on mobs higher than you; we already block a lot on easy mobs, probably get close to the maximum shielding rate. I wish I could get on and test it ; ;

            Well to those who said their PLD friends didn't notice a difference. Maybe ask them to level up their shield skill first before testing It's like if SE improves enfeebling sticking rate for a DRK and a DRK says he can't notice the difference when his skill level is 60 levels behind ...

            Anywho, I think the changes were good (See thread in RDM forum) I notice the shield skill coming out more in use and soloing EPs last night versus the night before was a *lot* different, in terms of my mitigating damage with the shield skill and also seeing monster criticals on me significantly reduced.

              I think the Shield Mastery trait gives back TP proportional to damage taken, because I've noticed getting 3 TP back instead of 2 when I block. I only tested in Batallia though, so who knows. I have yet to see the real point in Auto-Refresh for us, so far it seems to just be a bit of a boost while farming. Can't wait until tomorrow night when I can actually test these new changes out and see how my shield blocks work against IT mobs.

              Edit: Looked around on a few forums and people are discussing multiple Shield Mastery traits and their TP effects stacking as a possible explanation for some players experiencing different amounts of TP gain.
