with the tank qaulity at 60-68 on ifrit right now trust me there is an actual chance he lvled it >.< had to make a perma just to make sure we wouldnt die anymore. i got to 60 quick and took a break came back to stealing hate w/o use of weapon skill and usuing my jumps to shed hate. its sad right now ; ;

Hahaha. I actually enjoy tanking 2 mobs at once. It's fun. I used to know a kid who did stuff like warping from parties. He was a black mage, and would cast Warp II on someone in whatever party he was in if he didn't like them, or warp himself in the middle of a tough fight instead of escaping. He was exiled to Remora during the server migration, nobody wanted him on Leviathan anymore. No idea if he's still playing, but his name was Juranchi. Steer clear of him if you're on that server.

that one pld of seviftrit had must have bought account and thought that PLDs role is more like others in other games where it dosnt do dmg and dosnt take much damage, and is a big cure othrers kinda thing. Noticeing he was short on MP probably only waited till after battle for the healing to begin.
i had a freidn find out i play a PLD and they told me i was a mage casting woseie that dosnt really do anything. I told him that FFXI the PLD job is the "Glorified" tank profession. With many cases where a NIN can tank just as well or better, but there was no major determing factor that the pld shouldnt be able to do the same ... (then they nerf shields).

I am a proud supporter of the NIN can tank aslong as they are Kiteing or helping me control hate on randaom rare cases... Not to boast, for my level i tank awfully well givein most cercimstances. Untill PTs pull gobs without stunners at level 70, then the PT leader can tank till they understand its something you shouldnt do. Gain EXP for the mages and let your DD and Tanks die off too ofen.

You don't need stunners to fight goblins at lvl 70. In fact I'm usually pissed when the BLM stuns a bomb toss cause it just slows us down. IF the WHM is on top of things with barfira death shouldn't be an issue. I've fought gobs at that lvl without anyone capable of casting stun in the pt and did just fine.

level 58, went to kuftal for goblins. the goblin bomb itself at 80% HP and 1 shot our drk...

we had to stun every bomb pretty much... becasue our melee died too fast.

Did you guys have barfira up at all times? And was the DRK low on HP when the bomb dropped? Only time I've had pt members one shotted by bomb toss were when one of the above was the case if not both. Of course, those high HP bomb tosses can be randomly deadly regardless of what you do about it.

i had a mnk me and the dragoon dieing. usualy the mnk would live, being freinds to the redmage pt leader. whm and smn was telling me that i need to tank more and just lower my defense and increase my hp. I did that and died faster than my likeing. Barfira was up, but would not do enough to save me or the dragoon from anything other than certian death if the gob started with a bomb at the beging of battle.

Back when I was static leveling my BLM with friends...we decided that I should stun any goblin bomb tossed when the goblin was above ~70% HP. It worked pretty well for me.

Vermy isn't unusual for PLD... I have one on mine. It helps a lot for MP recovery in-between fights or during HNMs/BCs when you're not tanking and still want to get TP for spirits within.

Isn't unusual for PLDs...with excess money or alternate jobs that use it. I don't really expect PLDs I group with to pop out a VC inbetween fights.

Most PLDs with a VC got it through their HNMLS and had the residential clothcrafter put it together through LS funds or material bank. That's what I think is the case for 90% of the PLDs I knew who had a VC (Don't believe me? Ask anyone of them who hasn't bought gils on how they got theirs)
