Level 40 gear?

I'm on the rise to level 40 as a devoted PLD/WAR. I'm currently wearing a beautiful Kampf set, given to me as a birthday gift from a friend, now when I hit 40, I am a bit concerned for my gear. Maybe I am a bit over zealous about being my Paladin, as I ensure every level I double to make sure there is no piece of armor I should have. It is quite sad. Anyway, my worries is level forty as the Kampf set is great and as gil is not too much of an issue, so at level 40 or a bit lower to my I.M. armor ((Which I shall wear no matter what other armor there is as it too sexy to pass up)) what armor would you provide this sad, overly-zealous Paladin?

Head: Kampfschaller -> I.M. Armet (40)
Body: Kampfbrust -> R.S. Chainmail/Breastplate (40) -> Earth Doublet (42)/Brigandine(45)
Hands: Kampfhentzes -> Rush Gloves (50) (if available) -> Gallant Gauntlets (54)
Legs: Kampfdiechlings -> I.M. Cuisses (50)
Feet: Kampfschuhs -> Gallant Leggings (52)

Basically, hands/legs/feet will last you 'til at least 50; head and body should be replaced at 40.

Pick yourself up a Grudge Sword at 39. If money is no issue, then get a Jennet Shield as well and maybe a merc earring, Cav mantle and HQ rings. Over +20 vit with that setup. :D

Edit: Forgot to mention something. If I were you, I'd get a Centurion chest piece for the extra vit.

I'd Get Ur AF sword the uhh.. lol forget but its 42 and gives VIT +2 and MND + 2 its best one and had like 38 dmg so itss all good. tey to get the 37 muffler that gives enchantment of +7 vit and pld basically needs Vit and def but if your a galka go for more mp but a hume go for hp vit and mp then so on see a pattern?

38 on AF sword? More like 28. Honor Sword is debatable when weighed against the Grudge Sword. On the one hand, you've got +2 VIT and +2 MND. But on the other you've got +1 Enmity. At that level you can have more than enough +VIT to not need to even bother with the Honor Sword. In that case the Grudge Sword is a better option, even though it has a lower damage (26 vs. 28).

Test both out. IMO Grudge is good to help out on hate (yea, 1 enmity adds up), but on the other hand, VIT is good too. It's never bad to have more at this level. R.S. Body is what I wore, Armando pretty much outlined what you needed to wear in the coming levels. At 45, you'll be switching to Brigandine but it's not required. I did that route 2 years ago, and found that it's really up to you whether you do it or not. R.S. can still be good regardless. HQ Rings for VIT (+3?) if you can afford it, I wore Sphene's at this level, food will be your best friend to be honest. Jenet shield is the best shield by far (I used Heater then forgot what else after that LOL), other than that, just tank the way you're tanking and it should be smooth sailing from here.

I dinged 36 last night. Just picked up a Hunting sword and loving it's performance ^^
Holding hate got a little difficult with Whm that cures me too good >.< not much chance to cure myself in my last PT. Really want to learn Flash asap.

Cool stuff. Yea, it's a little tough without Flash, but still manageable. Using Cure or Cure II? Keep a constant Voke and Cure and cycling Shield bash and Sentinel, you should be set on hate :-D.

I tried for cure 2 and 3. but too many of my cure 2 healed less than 50hp last night ><

Another PT I had yesterady too was pld(me) blu blu blu blu cor camping skeletons/crabs front of norg... Healing breeze was amazing when the skellies do their AoE moves. D:
